lowest prices Great support NameSilo is Best
I get better prices and support at Dynadot. Better Control Panel too.
I voted for NameSilo. The new management did not destroy what was done by previous team, which by itself is positive. One would however expect more innovations and further developement, like in good old times (as shown in an old "New NameSilo marketplace" NP thread).
Lot of competition, but I decided for Dynadot this year.
I’d laugh about your “fave,” JagG—except l’ve had nothing but trouble with Ionos, too, including their edict that l can’t have a Username but must use the Contract Number of each domain name l register with it, in order to locate and “work” on the domain. Say what!?
My favorite registrar—NameSilo—won the latest poll—or at least is winning it. NameSilo makes everything so easy, from changing nameservers to going public or private to saving money. Well, at least until it raised its rates two bucks recently.
Still a bargain in my opinion.
I also like Dynadot—which sadly just raised it rates, too. I don’t know why a registrar doesn’t become instantly popular by dropping its rates to from $5 to $6 permanently; registering a domain name doesn’t seem to be a particular expensive proposition for registrars. I have a hunch there’s some subjective and unprovable price-fixing involved.
The one thing that bugs me about Dynadot is that it requires buyers to set their nameservers before it’s a done deal! Why?
That was a special offer promo price. They haven't raised their rates.
Everyone has a different experience as some companies give better perks based on relationship value.
namesilo makes it a pain to pay via credit card
Is using Godaddy an advantage for reaching Chinese buyers?
going for dynadot
hexonet is great too
Godaddy has localized website versions for Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan only. No localized version for mainland China at this time. Also, Chinese users tend to prefer local suppliers.
For easier domainpushes to Chinese buyers, I'd probably try https://www.alibabacloud.com/domain . They have a website in English and also $7.99 reg / $8.99 renewal / $8.03 transfers right now for .com (promo). However, I do not have any experience with them. and I cannot confirm do they have domainpush functionality to begin with... Maybe China-based members can recommend other alternatives?
I voted for Dynadot. Easy panel great prices, fast transfers out, improved auction interface.
Transitioned most domains out of NameSilo. Don’t like that in 2019 they don’t allow fast transfers out should you leave or sell a name. They still make you wait every second of the 5 days. Even NetSol releases faster if you answer the email. Hardly any sales compared to the old days pre them getting sold.
There are things I like about Epik and I do have names there. Whether I keep them there or not I haven’t decided.
Namesilo allows fast transfers out.
It’s Enom that is slow, and horrible when it comes to transfers.
They do not allow fast transfers out you have to wait 5 days.
Namesilo does, have done it many times. Check with support on exactly how to do it.
Last time I transferred the domain away from NameSIlo (last year), there was a "fast approval" link hidden somewhere inside the account area. Definitely no email link. But it worked. I beleive it was always the case, including under old ownership.
I also see this effect. However, maybe it is just our domains? I never expected to see any buyers arriving as the result of searching @ namesilo marketplace ( which offers, among other domains, too long handregs like 017901111einffho017901582zjuxin017900917fomose017901113fashion.com ). So it is really hard to find anything. Another explanation might be extra security measures ==> declining legitimate purchases. It is just a version, may or may not be correct, my own purchases do always come through and I did not receive any complaints from the buyers.
Namespro.ca holds almost all of my .ca’s
Sibername for .ca TBR
Namesilo for almost all of my others. They have great pricing and many other nice features at no extra cost. Used their escrow when selling inbound requests and it worked just fine.
And Namesilo does have fast transfer away
Name recognition - Godaddy
Overall business handling / system management - Namesilo
Who are the animals voting for Network Solutions?
Contract Number at 1and1 means a package, where your domains reside.
There are 2 types of contracts: plain (domains only) and webhosting packages.
Why you create the separate contract for every added domain???
I have just a few contracts with XXX domains inside (each).
Regarding this poll...
I use many registrars... even GoDaddy sometimes.
Voted for Dynadot.
As in the last polls it is Epik for me as a distant front runner with Namesilo coming in second and Godaddy taking a third place (yes, I don't have a lot of love left for them but the auctions keep me hooked).
btw, I fully expect the winner to always be the same based on the number of employees that may be 'encouraged' to vote here.
Jurgen, is there anything special about 1and1, I mean why did you elect to use them? With an exception of their non-U.S. jurisdiction which is always a positive factor for non-U.S. based registrants.
When I was young domainer, 15+ years ago, I had a domain with them. Do not remember exactly what domain and how it landed at 1and1, maybe it was snapnames or namewinner drop catch or some promo. I decided not to renew it. With any other registrar, it would simply expire. Not with 1and1. They renewed it on their own expense and sent my details to a debt collection agency (!). OK I paid them, and "blacklisted" them for my future needs. Now I know that 1and1 customers should explicitly mark domains as not-to-be-renewed if they want to drop, but, again, I was unexperienced customer when the problem occured.... And I heard that they are using debt collectors as a routine part of their business...
1and1 has international service at .com with US residence.
And many local separate branches at ccTLDs across Europe, for example in Germany: 1und1.de
I use 1and1 for almost decade... mid X,XXX domains were regged/transferred, many were sold to endusers.
p.s. 1and1 even 2 years ago is not the same as it is in 2019.
The only one stable thing there: full lack of bulk operations.
Separate names with a comma.
