Is it verisign, ICANN, or the domainers at large.... Seems like we as domainers really have little or no say when it comes to regulations, and the new actions that are happening that directly impact our investments. I just don' t understand how we as domainers in a collective cannot have more power to make the right calls that is best for everyone, and not just a few big name holders, or ICANN tso they can generate more revenue. We control the domains, we should yield the power.

if you mean by control including the domain revenues, we gain revenues by buying and selling domains. for now i think on the administrative part icann.org and delegated control over registrar/reseller.

No, it is not all about revenue, it is the actions of ICANN, and other regulators to protect our investments, against dilution etc.. more to do with policies...

Do we really control the domain names? Unless you have your own registrar as
some domainers like Frank Schilling do, you're still at your registrar's mercy.

Then again, registrars are also "somewhat" at the mercy of the Registry of the
extension they're marketing and ICANN. What either party says, they'll follow
for the most part.

OTOH, some registrars like Tucows, Fabulous and Moniker seem to look after
their clients' (and theirs) interests. As the "next best thing" for few domainers
who can't afford having their own registrar maybe, they support organizations
like the Internet Commerce Association (ICA) to look after them.

And that's not including the average user like you, me and weblord here. Don't
we get to have some power as well?

So...who should yield the power, considering various interests are involved?
