Hi,

Does Industry have white label marketplaces?

I like Epik WLM but it needs some dev fixing css, adding domain descriptions, news section for marketing content etc. I like SH WLM but i do not like exclusively pointing nameservers to SH.

Thank you

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I would to use SH "white label marketplace" for selling my domains buy I do not want to point them to SH nameservers
So i need showcase with possible purchasing

To my understanding you don't have to point name servers for non premium domain names: https://helpdesk.squadhelp.com/en/articles/4231106-white-label-marketplace-terms-conditions
"You are allowed to list domains to your white-label Marketplace without pointing your name servers to Squadhelp."

You can try DNHat. It has both hosted (cloud-based) and self-hosted versions.
here is the link: https://dnhat.com/features.php

I think what is meant by white label in the domaining context is that the site allows you to use your own branding. The host usually supplies the payment method and payment goes through them, plus they have a small branding footprint on the site. The only advantage I can see is that you get your own branding opportunity. Other than that they are standard market places. Biix.com (same owner as NameWorth, both widely advertised on this site) does get a bit closer to a true white label offering as an option within it but it's not a finished product yet.

The only exception specifically for the domains aftermarket trade I'm aware of is @Josytal's, where you can buy the software and it's yours. You set up your own payment system and collect the money yourself. He's an extremely helpful guy, too, so worth taking a look at his "DNHat" offering. He also offers a hosted option. I haven't looked closely into how that works.

Other than those, it's roll your own, so far as I am aware. That is proprietary to your own business, so even better than a white label if you know what you are doing and can find the time.

@BradWilson DomainMOD looks like a super useful tool even if it's not a marketplace. Thanks for that. I keep tweaking my own db to improve it but there's the finished article, all ready to download! Has anybody tried it? Is it as good as it looks? It appears to be built on a widely known CMS, maybe WP?

People already pay commission to marketplaces. Why pay anything to bring them the customer? There has to be more than a script and hosting when other business offer it all just bring your domain.

No as whitelabel implies you're provided with a platform to sell earning commission on selling for others.

Sorry, I don't fully agree with your statement.

But I think your wording may be the issue.

A White Label Product isn't just to earn a commission so your use of the word "implies" is what I don't agree with.

A white-label product is a product or service produced by one company (the producer) that other companies (the marketers) rebrand to make it appear as if they had made it.

Some websites use white labels to enable a successful brand to offer a service without having to invest in creating the technology and infrastructure itself. Many IT and modern marketing companies outsource or use white-label companies and services to provide specialist services without having to invest in developing their own product.

I've used many white label software over the years and pretty much have never paid a commission after purchasing the license.

I'd imagine that a TRUE white label domain marketplace would be similar but that really does depend on the actual license agreement.

Does the license give you full rights or not? Does the software give you full control to modify the source code and/or manage the payment process?

My guess is that most current white label domain marketplaces don't offer full rights and that is where your "implies" comes in and that's why I don't fully agree with your statement.

Could there be a white label domain marketplace with full rights? Yes, and I need to find the link because I think it was also open source. When I get a moment, I'll post the link. Sorry caregiving duties are pulling me away atm.

That's domain portfolio manager. It has nothing in common with domain marketplace.
Sorry, that was the wrong site and I'm not sure if I can find the other one or not.

Never referred to it as rubbish.
Sure seemed as if you did but no matter it's best we move on.

It seems you both have an agenda to promote your own projects which is fine by me really.

I'm just attempting to help answer the original question the best way I can. I'm definitely not trying to get in any negative discussions because of some possible misunderstanding.

I'll check my notes more when I get a chance to see if I can find anything on the resource I found before. If I find anything, I'll post it.

In the mean time, I have seen many open source marketplace projects and can see that it would be fairly easy to modify them enough to use for domain sales. In fact, I may just do that myself.

@lock we're on the same page there. Whether the market place has white label facilities or not, that's what's happening.

But they still serve a purpose for the majority of the "industry", including many of the biggest players we are aware of. I don't see anything fundamentally wrong with that.

Do you mean the domain you are using for the marketplace, or for your individual listings within your SH 'white label' marketplace? You don't need to point DNS there for the latter. I normally keep most of mine pointed there, but a few I point other places. The TXT verification process works fine at SH standard listings.

I will just use a silly example as not out to debate this in detail or rubbish idea as i would be onboard. Free hosting and pointing your domain isn't the only base for a whitelabel. I shall agree there is more to it as far as coding but if you supply the content eg own names i can hardly compare it to the traditional whitelabel of name design content ready to go. I can agree with others views but expect more and asking for more.
Not sure why you think my idea is "rubbish" but okay.

I'm only attempting to provide an accurate assessment of what white label software really is based on my previous experiences, and not debate the minor details especially if it isn't pertinent to the orginal question.

So getting back on topic... I found the link I referred to in my previous post.

DomainMOD
DomainMOD is an open source application used to manage your domains and other internet assets in a central location

I'm not connected to this project in any way and haven't used it yet but I am planning to do so asap.

Seems that being misquoted means I need to expalin my agenda if someone makes a whitelabel that i can use earn commission i will be on board. I am also looking for 2nd tier. If i debate further what features other white labels have and what is missing i may start rubbishing the lack of features of what is currently on offer.

Are you looking for something like Efty.com where you just need to pay membership and no commission for each sale?

Hi,

Does Industry have white label marketplaces?

Thank you

I think we are doing exactly what you are looking for: Your OWN domain store where you have full control over your site, domains, pricing, negotiations, etc.

We just launched brandshore.com a custom built, easy to use, blazing fast domain store prototype that every domainer should have!

I've spent the last year intensively developing supernames.com, a fully functional domain store for a domainer friend, who wanted to own, and sell domains independently.

I know from previous research and experience that many domainers struggle to manage their portfolio smartly, don't have the freedom for negotiations or simply don't like the ridiculous commissions that some marketplaces have.

To solve all these and many more problems, I decided to revamp brandshore.com, and I've built a unique prototype of the perfect domain store of the 21th century (check it out 🙏).

We create domain store that are focusing exclusively on great user experience, trust, design.
Some features included:

  • Price or make offer with integrated payment options (CreditCard, DAN, Sedo, Afternic) for a higher trust and flexibility
  • Airtable integration for instant and easy spreadsheet management. Orchestrate your domains, prices, logos, description, payments etc from one source
  • Algolia instant search
  • Logo (if there is one)
  • Contact seller
  • Voice pronunciation
  • Favorite [❤️] domain functionality.
  • Spam protection
  • No extra costs or hosting fees

If you want a similar store like brandshore.com or supernames.com you can contact me for more details.
