You did mean REAL programming Languages
Not those ScriptKiddy Playtime Languages like Php and JavaScript
or Text editor Macro Tags like Css & Html
And I only keep real pets like Tyrannosaurus, triceratops, and pterodactyl, not those fluffy kiddie mamals like cats and dogs that exist today :)

But seriously. Lisp a β€œREAL” language? It was the PHP of the 60's. Yeah baby!
Oh, and you forgot to list Logo :)

I dont see how really you can call php and other scripting languages "ScriptKiddy Playtime Languages" becuase with out them there would be no internet.Fair enough if you say that and never used the internet but you do because your on namepros.com.
I assume you are referring to the make script that was used to compile the first web browser, not to the fact that PHP was first written (in Perl) a good two decades into the life the Internet, and a good 4-5 years into the life of the web?

I use php, css, html and javascript

Ocassionally ASP for some domains hosted on windows servers

XML only as fetched content.

I know how to use but avoid mysql and CGI because I hate the multiple errors caused by misconfigurations, time outs due exceeded number of connections, etc. etc.

You wouldn't be on this site right now if it wasn't for php since vB is written in PHP :)

I use PHP/MySQL to program web applications.

My background is like the history of programming languages... I've coded in:

1980's:
RPGII - via punch cards
Cobol
Modula2
Pascal
QBasic
Assembly (Motorola)
C
Unix Shell(s)
DOS

1990's:
PROGRESS RDBMS
Oracle / PLSQL / SQL
VB (classic :) )
Java
C++

2000's:
LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL PHP)
VB.net (starting to learn - for work)
Ruby / ROR (starting to learn - for fun)

Oh yeah... I suck at all of them. :hehe:

At the moment:

HTML
PHP with MYSQL (I'm very good)
Phyton

I am trying to learn C++ and I find it pretty similar to PHP. I love to program. I can't wait to actually do some real stuff.
