The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Since Google has a patent on link popularity as an indication of a document and pages value. I guess the answer should be google.

so alexa ratings mean nothing? Just curious cause sometimes I find domains that say they are in like the 10,000 in alexa, you look at their page views per month average ect....and they are in the millions...which would make me believe they have a good little bit of traffic...

but google is more important?

So does this = traffic????

As long as it's not faked, overture with extension almost always = traffic because it's folks looking for the actual website (or typos, etc).

Alexa rankings are easily manipulated. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you can increase your alexa rankings by simply forwarding your domain to a popular website for a period of time.

That's Google PageRank (Maybe Alexa also?), as I found out when first getting involved with Google PR :)
Looked quite the fool as I thought one of my little domains finally made it big-time ;)

Not "listed in overture", but that means that is how many times someone searched for that term with extension (.com , .net , .etc ) the previous month.
See here: http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/
To see "with extension" you must include the .com directly at the end of the term.
Otherwise, you'll see ovt w/o ext.
