I am starting out by hand registering them, eventually I will give expired domains a try once I am able to sell at least one.
I was advised to check out an industry first in Namebio if the prospect keyword is lucrative. Then to look for your top choice in The expired domains marketplace.

I try getting expired domains on GoDaddy Auctions, Namejet first. Then GreatDomain Auction on Sedo and a few handregs. I like single name domains but they are expensive to get.
