So I bought have.tips. I am a developer and have a couple of ideas on how to develop the domain, but not sure about those. What do you think should be there? What would you like to (or expect to) see on have.tips?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Jokes and stories about food service would be one.

the name is a bit vague and does not offer any real insight to what would be there (imo) basically you can put anything on it, yes maybe bartender stories??

Uhh I see how "tips" can be perceived. How does this sound: a site where you ask a question, and random people answer (provide tips) one-on-one.

Probably a weekend to make a working prototype. Just going around and asking what people think of this first.

Just an idea, what about target your site to college students, and let users (most likely students) to post tips request for a certain courses and let other users to provide tips?

Since it'll a give-and-take platform, perhaps you could make it into a point system, where if users provide tips they get x amt of points, and in order for them to view/obtain tips (for other courses) they have to spend y amt of points? (and each of them get z amt of points when they sign up) etc

I have seen a website doing similar thing but with sharing course notes (which might have a larger market than course tips, because tips could be too specific to some courses. Since different colleges and different courses have different scope of tips, you could categorize the 'tips' submitted/requested into subjects and courses.

E.g. Tips on scoring high in history class; versus Tips on scoring high in Psychology 101 with Prof xyz at UCLA, etc.

It's open for discussion :)

If I'm making a site, I do it the other way around. First I have the idea for the site, second I get a half-decent name for it.

Otherwise I just hold the name. That being said, I rarely register names on speculation now (registered 500 in 2000 and wasn't thinking about making sites for each one!).

As for the name, I don't think it's great. If you were to offer it to me at a price of my choosing, I don't think I would take it.
