The areas leading popularity are CryptoArt, NFT gaming, digital cards, digital land and limited collectibles. Christies auction house is now getting involved in CryptoArt, Atari in NFT gaming and NBA in digital cards, as examples.

Despite this, it is still very early in the game, with NFT's getting little mention in crypto, let alone the mainstream. Immense future opportunities await early adopters.
