With thousands of startups needing a name for their new company and many more existing businesses also branching out all the time and needing names for their new line of products and services it seems that brandable domains is one of the areas that could be very beneficial to domainers both old and new and deserves to be explored further.

Below are a few points of discussion to get this thread started, if I have left something important out please let me know so that it can be added to them. If you have any tips or advice about brandable domains please feel free to share them with the rest of us.

1-What is a brandable domain.

2-How many different types of brandable domains are there and is one type better than the others.

3-What makes a brandable domain stand out amongst thousands of others.

4-What is the optimum length for a brandable domain, how long can a brandable domain be and still qualify as being a good choice.

5-What types of brandable domains are most desired by startups and existing businesses.

6-What is the best way to find brandable domains.

7-What is the best way to sell brandable domains.

Attention Newbies: It's probably best to first hear what some of the more experienced domainers have to say about this subject before you consider getting any domains, and even then it's probably best to experiment with just a few domains at a time. You should be able to sell one domain and then use the proceeds from that sale to get more domains, if you cannot even sell one domain then you are doing something wrong and need to adjust your strategy. IMO

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Listed this one on Brandpa a few days ago after my first successful Brandpa sale. Automatically accepted and priced at only around $1700

Pfizer is said to brand their COVID vaccine miagra ;)
I really like like the sound and looks of this. If it's true what you say about Pfizer (and I have no reason to believe otherwise) and the name Miagra, it could be worth a whole lot more than your asking price.

I wonder how much Pfizer's brand Viagra® is worth today? Thanks for sharing.

Consultacy.com
Could have fooled me, bit it looks good.

I've owned a brandable for a little over two years now; WeeMore(.com) that I was thinking could be a great name for a retailer where you get a "Wee More" for the money until I started seeing TV ads for Urolift.com.
Anyone with "flow" issues should look into the new drug WeeMore:xf.wink:.

NameChief.com the very first domain I sold in 2001 that got me hooked on domain selling business. I was designing a logo for somebody, probably here in NP. Since our country (Philippines) had no Paypal then, so I told the client to pay me by buying me this domain and transfer it to me.

Somehow I don't follow the "brandability" of "Wee More" - especially in relation to a very sensitive health topic. Do you imagine an adult facing "flow" issues would find something childish, babyish, & in poor taste appealing as a Brand. Not sure that pitch will get far.

Hi, newbie here. Stupidly bought some NNLL.com like 06ce.com and 06bi.com
Will it ever be brandable? I dont think it will be accepted on SH, or BB. Brandpa auto appraises around $5k. But before im paying the fee, im looking others’ opinion.

Good afternoon.

Don't take this the wrong way, but don't buy anymore names like this. I see hundreds of better names dropping everyday that are better than these two examples. Unless you can automatically think of one or two end users for your domain names then you are just shooting in the dark. Check out actual sales data for domains that have sold for $5k and you will see why they sold for this amount. For example, yesterday I hand registered VR-Car .com and this would appeal to either the VR community, technologists or the car industry. It has a hyphen which lessens the value somewhat but it is clear and concise, straight to the point and most people would know what it refers to. It cost me $6 to hand register this name and I'm sure that if I keep it long enough I will find a buyer for more than my initial cost.

The only advice that I can give you is to read, more more and when you think you cannot possibly read anymore you should read. Learn fast and keep your money in your pocket until you don't have to ask what other people think of your names. You will just know.

Good luck on your journey.

Regards,

Reddstagg

I just handregged "AlphaDoge" in .com. I thought it was funny and a novelty to keep. Will try to make it as Brandable for the crypto or meme market.

I think a good portmanteau makes for 'a good brandable domain', as it fuses words and sounds into a new word, like "brandable".
