I prefer to have my developed sites with privacy and it is getting pricey on GD for renewals, and I don't have time to faff about looking for codes for them all and want to leave my money sites in one spot.

I am just looking for the cheapest yearly .com regs (for a reliable service) with free/included privacy. Then I can reg some new ones for new projects or transfer out existing ones when the time comes.

I am thinking it may be Namesilo, but wanted to be sure.

So, what is the best/cheapest registrar for regs with permanent privacy? Thanks in advance.

Yes, Namesilo. I have a large chunk of my portfolio in there. I have no problems so far. Their portfolio interface is as clean as Dynadot.

I think Internet.bs is also cheap. But then again, that registrar holds probably more than half of all the scammer domains in the planet. It's like moving next door to people with a long rap sheet.

Another vote for NameSilo from me. I did lose a couple of domainer to domainer sales though because not everyone has an account there and they don't want to sign up. Should improve with time.

Thanks guys.

@Alien51 I think I'll move to the good neighborhood, cheers

And thanks for the heads up @domainbartender. It'll be the rare one regged there that will be for sale. Maybe if I sell the whole site later, and that'd be after 2 months or something!

I like that privacy is free, but I don't like how it works at namesilo. If you plan to transfer out your domains, you will need to turn off privacy. I recently transfered few domains from namecheap, it takes about 2 hours to complete, and guess who came to my site and probably hit whois info > domaintools.com. Once they get it, its online forever. Namecheap and namebright have better whois privacy, that is, you will get transfer notification email with whois privacy turned on. At namesilo there is form to be filled.

Yes. Same as with Godaddy's DomainsByProxy.

That's true. DomainTools crawlers are like bots on steroids. It's a good thing i use business address for my whois data.

One thing you can do, is to populate your whois data with bogus info while it is transferring out. Then put back your real data when you switch on whois privacy on the receiving registrar. Kinda hassle though.

That's true again. To me though, i am more concerned at stopping solicitation and spammer bot emails.

And also, the extra effort required to contact me via whois info, effectively filters only those who have serious interest with my domain.

I guess this type of privacy only fits for domains that you are not transferring in-and-out on a regular basis. More like established domains with legit website material.
