there are "promotional" domains which are offered free or at a discount, when you purchase additional service.

and there are now ".promo" domains, which can be used as an example:
www.phony.promo

a premium domain is like premium ham, is cost more and there are add-on's for the pretty packaging.

but the meat may taste the same

seriously, though, premium domains in general are the most sought after names within various catergoies.
