.us Wanting to invest. 3 letter OR 3 Number - .US or .INFO

Hey all,

I'm thinking of investing in some prime .info or .us addresses. I already own two 3 letter .US domain names.

I want to get at least one deicent domain name before the rush for them arrives.

I dont know where my money is best spent:

  1. 3 Number .US or .INFO OR...
  2. ... a 3 Letter .US or .INFO

... And which extension to choose!

I don't have enough money just to go and throw my money at any domain I see, so I need to see which will benefit me the most later on.

Thanks

- Luke :)

3 numbers is much better than 3 letters
.info is better than .us
so,
nnn.info>nnn.us>lll.info>lll.us
maybe .biz is also worth a try so it would be
.info>.biz>.us
The ext that was first taken up usually has the more value, so the calculation is simple.

Not just being contrarion here, but...
.info >= .us = .biz ATM, but .us with the most potential to grow upwards, which is what the poster was looking for. (Also .us is beating .biz on sales, http://www.dnjournal.com , etc.)
And I'd go back to the letters instead of the #'s, just because the uses to date of .us's and .info's seem more suited to the acronym niche, rather than #'s. Just :imho:

I agree.. it wouldn't make much sense to snag gzj.info unless it was an acronym..

.INFO is better than .US.

.US makes sense that it belongs to USA.

3 letters are always better.

No I don't agree. When it comes to LLL domains investing, it is totally another story.
Which ext is more rare, which one is more valuable.
Compare current wholesale prices of lll.info, lll.biz and lll.us, then you will know.

What is a three-letter .info worth these days?

According to: http://www.3character.com/priceguide.html , $75 or.
Sales on Snap and Pool and eNom, etc. seem to confirm this. Sellers are beginning to see they have a "winner" even with bad letters, as offers of $50 for questionable letters are being turned down (Yeah, ;) ).

Just to clarify, I wasn't referring to premium letters... Hence "questionable" as per my comment above.

What do you consider 'premium' letters... only those that make up an actual word? Or any that exclude seldom used letters like x, z, etc.?

Different strokes for different folks.
I personally have little problem with "K's", but they are part of the set that folks commonly consider "less-than-desirable"
The 3character.com price guide is supposed to be for the lowest possible wholesale price, from what I hear. So premium letters (Like RMT.info , not necessarily words) would go for much more than $75.

As you see there is a huge agreement in this thread...:)
The more you're getting answers here , the more opinions ...
Thats why this biz is soooooooooooo speculated.

I will give more details about the name once the sale is complete.

How much are NNN.info's worth? There has been a sudden rise in .INFO domain name sales lately. 3 character.com says $80 .. any thoughts?

Hhhmm i'd say 3 character .com's most of the time go for around $30-$45... But maybe for the better ones around $80.
