Jumping on two hype trains in one here landed VRLibra.com
Reached out to a few flight training institute that uses VR, but no reply yet
Try and avoid trademarked names in this industry, FB have trademarked "Libra"
Libra currency is controlled by Libra Association and isn't trademarked, it's Calibra (facebook's libra wallet) that will cause issues for domainers
Seriously though, even if it wasn't TM'd, you made it obvious why you registered it, its all about usage with domain TM's, if you wanted it for something other than crypto, then you would be fine, but thats not the case here, have a look at the 100's of discussions on here about trademarks/usage/bad faith etc
Just dont register keywords because a famous company launches a product using that word, its what gives us domainers a bad name.
If you check the trademark in the original source of those links you'll see that the trademark is for a tax management company called Libra and covers that very specific niche - not the open source Libra currency that is controlled by the non-profit The Libra Association (not Facebook). Even the logo is completely different
Facebook tried to file a similar tax-related trademark in Korea and failed as LG own the rights to Libra there: https://thenews.asia/en/2019/06/21/south-koreas-lg-owns-trademark-to-libra-in-korea/. In fact every other trademark related to them has (or will be - the word is already trademarked in some overlapping areas in multiple countries) rejected or is pending as of now. It's like comparing Coinbase/Bitcoin
No worries, its your choice, you did state the reason you registered it, thats frowned upon in this industry.
Just an update at my side, got a respectable offer last week (directly) for my best VR name, low 5 figures, I’ve posted screenshots of me getting 5 figure offers for that before, but this was the highest I’ve had.
Also had a 5 figure offer (+ other domains package deal) for a domain of mine outside virtual tech and my best domain in general, also been speaking a few brokers about that.
Few $50 offers for my handregs. I only have around 30 regs left, but think I’m going to drop or sell really cheap when it comes renewals, handregs have not been worth it for me.
Sales I’ve made money on from virtual tech (and domaining in general) have all come from the aftermarket for the most part, so handregs aren’t part of my plan anymore.
Hope everyone else is doing good, there’s been a few sales reported in here recently and I’m sure many more not reported, so the VR wheels are still in motion.
Wow, that's a nice offer. I assume it's VRvideo you've posted in the past? It should only increase in value.
Yeah that's the one that attracts the most attention, VR Experiences is probably the 2nd, you always have doubts when you buy something whether you've done the right thing or not no matter what it is, so getting offers like that whilst not enough to convince you to sell (paid a lot for it myself), is always good.
Yeah, they are both really nice. I’m starting to see more main stream virtual reality TV ads every week. It seems the quest is exposing a lot of new users to VR. Should only get better as more companies release stand alone HMD’s. A year ago, some doubted whether VR domain names would be used as a lead into VR products/software/apps...etc. Looking at namebio sales, it seems like a natural fit.
I think it’s big Sony news have committed to it for another 10 years (PS5), in my opinion that can be just as influential for VR as Oculus was when they announced their first headset.
We’ll get there eventually
Another good one trades hands.
