Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

NameSilo
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Watched the Nvidia RTX 2080 reveal (also 2070 and 2080 ti), today was a historic day for computer graphics not only for VR, absolutely outstanding.

What is ROOT VR?

While shooting at a VR location such as Hazelwood Terrace, the Director might ask if everything is Root VR ready. Let’s see what that entails.
  • Is the physics in place? Does the sun-lounger and terrace furniture for instance, have mass as their real world counter parts do?
  • In the video above, what happens if the audience – the person wearing the VR headset, climbs up on the rail around the terrace?
  • Where is this place – does the story/narrative dictate that the location be tied to a real-world latitude and longitude and weather system?
  • Does it have a functional time of day system – Passage of time in VR can be manipulated to great effect than was is ever possible in traditional Cinema. This feature has to be wielded responsibly.
These are some of the fundamentals of what we’d call “Root VR”- a term taken from computing terminology – giving the Director “super user” status to craft the narrative. When offering VR locations on lease for filmmaking, a VR Location Scout might look for these assets to be tabulated.

IMHO, I would gently suggest to those new to VR domaining (or domaining, period...) that you want to concentrate on acquiring quality kw+vr / vr+kw... Now that we're about 3 years out from the big VR hype, there are starting to be some nice drops out there from many of us "early birds" who are trimming our portfolios and also from those domainers who failed to budget for renewal costs for an extended hold. (In my experience, this is the usual pattern with these emerging tech names, with many investors dropping off after 2-3 yrs - So some real gems out there for late-comers who believe in the VR vertical!) What I would strongly caution against is hand-regging VR 3-worders - Simply appending VR to a 2-word-combo with no sales history is not a recipe for success in my experience... (Also, once your domain gets to more than 10-12 characters, your chance of sale drops about 80-85% - Obviously, I exclude top quality longtails from this list...(y))

Again, JMHO - GL with your name! :xf.wink:

Renowned Investor Tom Lee Optimistic on Blockchain, Particularly for Finance and Gaming

https://nulltx.com/renowned-investo...ockchain-particularly-for-finance-and-gaming/

When asked if blockchain gaming is, in his opinion, the future of gaming, Lee strongly agreed.

“Reputation is an offshoot of trust. In the world of gaming and VR, that seems like a natural place [for blockchain], with an ecosystem and a need for trust. At the end of the day, a lot of the successful projects will be the ones that we don’t even realize.”

That's a cool VR view. Don't many watch CNN though.

What about this one, VR Theme Parks? Picked it up on GD expired on the 18th. Today they took it back. I called support and they said it was from a partner firm and they had to honer the 42 day rule. Disappointed.

Personally, I wouldn't be too disappointed... For reasons discussed above, I think the name has very limited potential... (Sometimes a seemingly bad result is actually a good result! :xf.wink:)

OK thanks. My thought was someone videoing theme parks real life around the globe and making a website to experience them virtually with the domain title. Oh well doesn’t matter now...for me anyway.

Any thoughts on VRdirectmarketing in king? I'm still learning and interested in what would make a longtail a quality longtail ?

I think a good quality longtail would be where there is an industry need for the added keyword or the added keyword represents a large niche/sub niche.

The example I usually give is "interior design".

The keyword "interior" on its own is a bit vague imo.

"Design" even though a premium keyword on its own, however can represent a wide spectrum of different design categories.

"interior design" however is an exact match niche in its own right in a very large, popular niche.

If someone said to me that their area of expertise was design, I would probably ask what kind of design work are they involved with. But if they said they worked in interior design I would instantly know the exact sector they are talking about.

Hope this kind of makes sense.

Got low $$$ offer for VRGFE(.)com
Once counter offered, finally rejected. Probably could be closed on low-mid $$$.
Expecting offer close to $$$$ for this one.

GFE - Girlfriend experience
I think classic genre for VR
VRBFE is also mine
I’ve just sold VirtualBF(.)com for $890 via Afternic broker. Would normally hold out for (a lot) more but low sales rate this year so took it. Might be the same buyer :xf.wink:
