Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I have previously received offers via email through private whois, so it's definitely possible. But I don't think the average end user buyer would know how.
Thanks and yes, I know that domainsbyproxy.com from GD forwards it to the owner's email, but not sure if other companies do the same. P.S. Not questioning the great offer he got, but am just curious.

mccurly bought it iirc.

It's a great name in king. My thinking was, it could be used by a company selling glasses. Their site could use virtual display for their models or a customer could go into VR mode in a 3D world to immerse in their brand of glasses.

Sold VRShield in king on GD for $2,000

Probably undersold it. Congrats if someone here.

I think that's a great sale. Wondering how you listed it on GD. Did you have a reserve? 7 day auction? Paid for higher listing? From what I've seen, good names go unnoticed until they receive at least 1 bid. Thanks

Will it be 5th Dimensional soon?

Don't know about that, but I do see the future use of 5 senses of taste, smell, vision, hearing, and touch...as in VRsenses.:)

China has officially opened its first ever virtual reality cinema in Beijing, to give cinemagoers the experience of being able to experience film in multiple dimension.

The VR cinema was built by Chinese electronics company Gome and is only the second of its kind in the world. What makes it different from a regular picture house is the fact that the audience can see, hear, smell and even feel in 360 degrees.

Awesome, we've got a ton of VirtualReality + (sports) names: baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis, football, boxing all in KING

They are awesome names. I do believe VR will be better with time, as virtual reality will just become VR...kind of the way TV evolved. Still, you have ultra premium names. Only thing better imo is VRbaseball, VRfootball...etc, but who owns those? The coming years should be fun and rewarding for virtual reality.

The opportunities for VR companies are endless. I assume the reason for all of the giants jumping in with the start ups now. Almost impossible to pick the winners at this point.

Well I know I've had offers through NameSilo privacy, but I'm not sure if it's the same with other registrars.

Sony’s PlayStation VR (PSVR) has had an unexpectedly big E3, debuting Bethesda’s Skyrim VR, revealing a port of Superhot VR, and announcing several other intriguing games. With the event nearly over, though, the company is pledging to make more of an effort promoting the headset.

Shuhei Yoshida, Head of Worldwide Studios at Sony, said as much to Gamespot at this year’s show. Yoshida explained that the limited stock for PSVR had kept the company from promoting the headset all that much since launch last October. Now that supply is catching up with demand, however, the company intends to start more heavily promoting both the device and the games coming to it.

“So we’ve been holding back– our marketing and sales teams have been holding back promoting the system because we didn’t have enough units,” Yoshida told Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller. “But going forward, because we have enough units moving into the retailers, we will restart promoting the system and games coming up.”

Currently PSVR is the only headset for modern day consoles, but that may not be the case for long; Microsoft’s new Xbox One X supports VR, and may have a headset for it next year.

We can hopefully expect to see much more of PSVR heading into this year’s holiday season, then, especially as big hitters like Skyrim VR and Doom VFR start to roll out. PSVR is already ahead of the pack in terms of VR sales, shifting over one million units to date; how much further can it climb by the end of the year?

At the moment I would not mind doing a couple of sales or three of 5000, I can assure you that I would be enormously happy.

Indeed, the buyer also made good business.

Congrats Urlu.

Congrats on the nice sale. You can buy a lot of good names or whatever with the proceeds. I'll also take 1 or 2 of those a year.

Yes, I bet plenty on VR names. My wife thought I was crazy when we about maxed out the credit card. She's coming around now though, as almost daily there's something new stated about virtual reality on main stream media. Also helps to see real VR sales unfolding. Might not be totally positive, but I can see consumers living in their headsets for hours, during their free time.

Yes, my wife has had plenty of patience, with good reason. Still not a true believer. Thank goodness I have a day job. Many ups and downs over the past decade. Sold a few names, built several websites with domains and tried several parking sites. I always believed in dot com only though. Still waiting for the Big One!:)
