Sometimes I just type in random words just to see where it takes me. Today I typed in Vans.com and I landed at the 12 billion dollar company Vans which sells shoes and apparel. I remember this company when I was younger and actually owned my fair share of Vans shoes. I totally forgot about them so originally when I typed in Vans I was expecting to either land at a parked page or at some company that actually sells Vans. Conversion vans, custom vans etc…..have always been popular and is a huge market.
The question I have is, how much do you think the growth of this company can be attributed to generic type in traffic. Even though they don't sell actual vans the type in traffic can still expose a company globally and help expand it's growth.
Vans also owns 30 other brands under it's umbrella such as The North Face, Timberland and Wrangler. Revenue for all the brands is a whopping 12 billion dollars annually.
