What's the value of a same-name, but different-tld, domain of a popular domain?
For example:
How does the value of xend.com change due to zend.com's popularity?
How does the value of dmoz.net change due to dmoz.org's popularity?
etc.
(Is this inappropriate to use a domain that is actually for sale in such an example? If so, I'll edit this post.)
Do the value of such domains increase (due to typo traffic, etc.), or decrease (due to the struggle to create a unique brandable domain name, etc.)?
I know it depends on many things, including the content and purpose of both of the similar domains in question. So, please assume the content and purpose of both domains are different enough that there would be no trademark issues, to keep this discussion simple!
Just curious, as always...
