I am not usually at a loss for words, but let me start off by saying @NamePros has been a great community. The people here by and large have been first class ALWAYS ready and willing to lend a hand. It is truly amazing if you stop and think about it. No bologna. As an aside can @Amanda or @Eric Lyon please clarify the colorful language policy. The amazing thing is this . . . we are all competing with one another. Think about it. Yes we may have different niches. We may have different budgets. We may bring different experiences, lifestyles, and specialties to the table! Nevertheless, we are competing. To be in a place that is competing AND so supportive is quite unusual. So to all of you, I salute you for that! To NamePros job well done with creating community!

So I don't get anything for this write up. That's not true, I get satisfaction out of writing this even if you all are like yawn, nothing to see here! Maybe when one of you needs a write up you will think about how well I have written. That would only be a bonus! Everything I am writing is true, so I have that satisfaction as well!

I started to dabble in domains in December. It is now June. That is about 7 months. I am still a newbie! You know how you want to thank people, but you know you are going to leave someone out? Well I appreciate the community as a whole a ton! If we have interacted some and I leave you out, please accept my apology, I do appreciate you.

I think @lolwarrior was one of the first folks who said slow down, you are creating some bad names! I think @Silentptnr was probably next! Of course his famous reg of the day thread kind of makes that hard to do! I also can't thank @toughdomains enough. Rudy was super patient with me as I asked him tons of questions. I happen to like his product a lot. My remaining needs may vary from yours, but Rudy still took the time to answer my questions even when they weren't exactly Tough Domain questions! @MapleDots is really good people! He has given me some positive encouragement along the way. @RevolutionaryDomains @NamesBond @alcy @NADAMS @maksimfa have all been very encouraging, honest, truthful, and constructive in their criticisms. I feel very fortunate to have interacted with you all. I have come across a few sour patches;) I know my experience could have been different, so thanks for all you have done thus far!

I say all the time, I am not a domainer I don't think like you. Then I say that doesn't mean I am better or worse, just different. And I recognize I am a little different. I have that creative/analytical mix . . . so I can piss everyone off;) Today I received a PM from @SamiLotvonen. As far as I can remember we had not previously interacted. So when I get a PM like that I am very skeptical! What do they want? What are they selling? Can I pay a utility bill? Can I accept their uncle's wire transfer, and accept a fee to do so? Ya know the list goes on! To my surprise he was very encouraging. He gave me a few tips. The thing about unsolicited tips is that they usually stink. Not in this case. I am an idea guy. As an aside, I wish I could change my moniker to
Idea Guy Wants2Learn, but that is too long. LOL. So he gave me a few ideas. I checked a site out. One think that jumped out to me was BikeDubai.com. I don't know why it did, but it did.

Next . . . I pulled up Namebio and typed bike in dot com OF COURSE! I played with it. Start and End of domains. I pulled up UniRegistry to start my searches! I probably searched 200 names. Maybe a little less, but it was a lot! I had my cart pretty full, but managed to dwindle down to three names. It could be kind of embarrassing to be so excited about the NamePros community and pretty excited about 1 of the 3 names that I expect my first, "You were able to hand reg that domain!" I have gotten plenty, "You registered that domain. what were you thinking?" LOL Only to have the community say, "Nice try, try again. Oh wait don't try again. Save your money and buy an aftermarket domain!" By the way, I do want to be in the after market game. I have been some. Just need to move some inventory!

Anyways, I am always willing to take constructive criticism and feedback. I am super excited about 1 of my 3 new domains. I am very excited about the 2nd of the 3 domains. Lastly, the third domain was to "hedge" my second domain bet . . . if you will. I may start another thread about domain hedging. I assume the concept exists.

They say if you have to explain you have already lost. I don't know if I completely agree, and definitely do not agree with it as a law of domaining. As another aside . . . Know how there are the 10 commandments? Someone out to write the 10 commandments of domaining! Furthermore, I would like to contribute to the Domaining Proverbs . . . a general truth that applies in most situations, but not all!

So thanks to @SamiLotvonen and BikeDubai.com I went into creative mode. So if it turns out well, credit to Sam. If it turns out to be another dud, me being me not understanding domaining!
Without further ado . . .

BikeCosts.com
BikeBurbs.com
BikeSuburbs.com

There is more than 1 cost associated with bikes. I was shocked it was available. BikeCost.com was gone, but I like BikeCosts.com a heck of a lot more. And if you had the S version on something like this, I would like your S version over my non S version!

BikeBurbs, short for suburbs! It is so interesting where I live. There are bike lanes, trails, parks . . . BikeCity perhaps . . . BikeMtns (think mountains is still available) . . . More people are in fact biking in the burbs, suburbs! There are a lot of bike shops near me in fact. I like BikeBurbs more than BikeSuburbs, but I decided to "hedge" my remaining bet!

Okay . . .

You might be able to flip BikeCosts, but the reality is all 3 would be better if they were developed. I don't particularly like abbreveiations either,

So BikeBurbs wasn't your favorite!! You may not think there is a niche for biking or biking in the suburbs. I dont personally bike!!:) But I am curious with respect to domains, which do you think is best? BikeBurbs or BikeSuburbs?

Silly question of the day coming, most likely! How does one develop a website? In this case I am not a bike store owner or rider!! Does a developed website have continuous updated content? Or do you think writing a few articles about bikes with some pictures is sufficient enough? With SpecificLearningDisability.com I can totally create a page with much of my own original content. But I'm not interested in updating my websites like that. I'd rather have a nice landing page than crappy content! Now that I've written all this I think you mean having a nice page with a little content a little picture and a few links.

Of course I prefer Suburbs to Burbs. You could have an Amazon shop for bikes and parts or blog of sorts, but with a blog you will need to post new posts every now and again. Static content gets old quite quickly. It's inbound links which are important. Which are generally reciprocated.

One other quick question, when you say you prefer BikeSuburbs over BikeBurbs, it is in a remaining sense? Sometimes I may personally prefer X, but Y is better for business.

One other question! When listing the domains for sale, how close should they be in pricing?

If you really want to learn start buying in the aftermarket, your approach to domaining is like gambling, consider what you have spent and then consider the liquid markets such as 4L's and 5N's .. all .com of course. Sure some folk get lucky but do not base a portfolio around "fluke" sales. Establish what sells on a constant basis and what there are enduser markets for. I don't have time for long discussions so that is it in a nutshell. BikeCost would have been the best, don't settle for second best just to register another name.

I prefer fully spelled out domains to shortened words where the meaning isn't certain. If either is relevant to business is debatable, but I'd prefer Suburbs to Burbs. It's only 2 more letters after all, and it's clear what you are selling to where.

Prices could be anywhere. Close or far apart. I think for your three domains they probably should be $50 apart at most.

Thank you. I appreciate your candor @stub and your graciousness while conversing with me. Whatever your day job is, I am sure you do well. Im not trying to have a clairvoyant moment, but I can see you in an industry where you have to be detailed and analytical, and it is you who get to lead people, possibly to your chagrin!
