Trustworthy Domain Registration Sites (Esp. for International Domains)

Hello,

Having heard about some domain registration sites stealing domains you attempt to register and/or put into their whois, I would like to know which companies I can trust NOT to do this.

What is an international domain registration site that I can trust? I've seen both 101Domain and AmericanRegistry disparaged here and those are two of the only companies I've discovered as of yet who support my extension of choice. What about Marcaria...can I trust those guys?

I have a handful of names registered with Marcaria. Their services as a whole are exceptional.

In general I recommend using a local registrar for ccTLDs. Even if that means one registrar for each TLD.
Some registrars like Eurodns offer many extensions but:

• prices are often expensive
• many registrars are best avoided
• often they are resellers

Visit the official registry website for the extension you're interested in, you should find a list of accredited registrars. Then do your shopping.
Make sure you understand the rules and peculiarities of that particular TLD, and that you're eligible.

I don't think its an overly common practice but everyone loves a good conspiracy.

Also, make sure what services are included; it does you no good if you buy a domain for cheap only to find out that you have to pay extra for forwarding, name changes, pushes, transfers out, and email.
