A breakthrough at TRAFFIC LIVE Auctions

Now you can place TRAFFIC LIVE auction bids from your home computer, in real-time during LIVE TRAFFIC Auctions, for free!

Can I participate in the Live Auctions if I am not attending an event in person?

Yes, anyone can participate in the Live Auctions by logging into their SnapNames account and following the Live Auctions links during the auction. We recommend that you visit the Live Auctions page at snapnames.com a minimum of three days prior to the auctions to download the Live Auctions software.

What is SnapNames Live?

How far in advance of the auctions should I go to the SnapNames Live bidding interface?

The bidding interface will be available approximately one hour prior to the start of each auction. Some special software is required in order to view the Live Auctions and submit remote bids. We strongly recommend that you visit snapnames.com a minimum of three days prior to the auction to download the Live auction software. The ".MOBI" domains have mandatory development requirements ... just like the ones auctioned prior at both Traffic and Sedo, correct? :gl:

Thanks for the assist.

Yes.

All the .mobi names at the LIVE Auction will have mandatory content requirements, except for:

shows.mobi
mike.mobi
naked.mobi
DUI.mobi

These domains were not held back by mTLD.

Thanks much ... who owns "Shows.mobi" and "Mike.mobi"?

So, among others, these quoted below would have the mandatory development requirements (which folks should carefully consider before bidding, IMHO): :gl:

Porn.mobi

Property.mobi

Banks.mobi

Tickets.mobi

Vegas.mobi

Broadway.mobi

Cruises.mobi

Hollywood.mobi

Score.mobi

DiscountTravel.mobi

Doctor.mobi

Lottery.mobi

If I recall, both "DUI.mobi" and "Naked.mobi" are recycled domains left over from previous Traffic Shows (at least, Traffic West if memory serves) that either did not meet previous unrealistic "reserve prices", or did not complete between buyer(s) and seller(s)? IYHO. :gl:

^ Agree. :music:
We've had these types of updates here in the past ... trying to remember who graciously did this for us in the previous Traffic Shows (and was there LIVE with the bidders and Usual Suspects™)? :gl: :talk:

Jeff, I agree.

People should consider all factors with respect to any namespace.

With respect to the .mobi namespace, auction participants will also consider the following:

Bank of America:
- largest U.S. Bank
- $160 BILLION Revenue

Mobile website: BofA.mobi
-launched BofA.mobi in May 2007
-advertises BofA.mobi online, in print, in their banks, and in commercials

Outcome: BofA.mobi gained 500,000 active mobile customers in 6 months

NOKIA (.mobi founder)
-5th most valuable global brand in BusinessWeek's Best Global Brands

Mobile website: NOKIA.mobi

Outcome:
"130 million page views per month on NOKIA.mobi---much more than what they get at NOKIA.COM."

BTW - NOKIA has launched and is marketing 7 dotMobi sites

ESPN

Mobile Website: ESPN.mobi
-Advertises online and on tv

Outcome:"ESPN is seeing extraordinary growth on their mobile site. In fact on some days they are getting more visits to mobile pages related to the NFL then they are to the PC site." http://www.rcrnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080107/FREE/420798726/1012/FREE

Smirnoff

Mobile Website: Smirnoff.mobi
-Advertises online and in print

Outcome: http://www.mobiadnews.com/?p=1288

Zagat

Mobile Website: zagat.mobi
-Advertises in subways, taxis, in print, and on tv

Apple recently launched an iPhone commercial that features this .mobi...

Yes, 'Boca ... you've posted that same "List" on several occassions in order to hype and promote the .MOBI namespace IMHO. :red:

The problems, of course, are that many, many of those "examples" are either not stand-alone, developed .MOBI's (for instance, simple URL fowarding to respective developed mobile .COM websites), not being promoted / marketed by their parent companies, not being marketed to the masses by either the company's or mTLD, have comparable, developed sites in the respective m.example.com's, are not scoring 5/5, as required under .MOBI compliant Ready.mobi, that the same posted "list" is not substantially growing after all this time, and the obvious continued exclusion of supposed "backer" Google™ ... in the equations! :guilty: :imho:

In the interests of full disclosure, you still own (and auctioning at the upcoming Traffic Live West) "Shows.mobi" ... is that correct Boca? :snaphappy:

Any additions of actual substance can be updated in your related "Lists" / posts / threads in the #1 Namepros .MOBI Forum™, naturally.

Just reporting the facts Jeffrey...facts can be stubborn things, IMHO  I appreciate you for continually trying to "smear" dotMobi on several occasions.

yes Jeff, that list is posted over and over again.

this is really no different than you repeating yourself over and over again... using the sammeeee talking points: over and over again.

over and over and over and over... you do the same thing jeff.

Yes. Thank you for the assist! I look forward to watching you bid on it :snaphappy:

I'm obviously not going to bid on your (or any) .MOBI domain name(s) at Traffic ... but I do appreciate your disclosure here - since you did not do so in the initial post here for the benefit of the community in the general Domain Discussions™ Forum, IMHO. :red: :|

That's laughable as it's not growing, and you know it ... again, that's a discussion that you can have in the .MOBI Forum™. :gl:
Thank you for understanding!

yea, you forgot the part where i said you do that exact same thing... you post the same thing over and over... so for you to tell someone they are being repetitive i find that a bit ironic.

Also, I wish 'Boca the best with the auction of his "Shows.mobi" domain at Traffic, as well!

im always missing the point i guess..

you're the first one that mentioned mobi specifically.. then you try to get it moved into the .mobi subforum... sneaky ;)

i know you the real issue you have is that he listed .com domains and .mobi domains together with the post and included one of his own domains.. (which is a purdy good one btw)

just say whatcha mean. :)

And, without the full and fair disclosure that he himself is hyping to sell the domain name "Shows.mobi" at the upcoming Traffic, as well IMHO. :|
His current active threads (plural) in the .MOBI Forum© would have been the more appropriate area for these types of spammy ".mobi lists", in my view!

Unfortunately, Jeffrey, you were the one who first changed this into a dotMobi-centric debate.

Jeffrey, please stay on topic and keep this thread positive & not personal.

Topic: Placing LIVE bids on all extensions at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. WEST LIVE from a home computer.

What do people think? good or bad...lets discuss... :talk:

Cheers,

'Boca, now that you've appropriately disclosed and clarified your ownership of "Shows.mobi" in this upcoming Traffic West thread here in the general Domain Discussions© Forum - for full and fair disclosure purposes - hopefully we can now continue the fair and open general discussion IMHO. :talk:
Thanks again for clarifying that key point for the community.

Topic: Placing LIVE bids on all extensions at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. WEST LIVE from a home computer.

What do people think? good or bad...lets discuss... :talk:

I think it's good, if it somehow gets End users to finally participate at these Traffic events! :imho:
-Jeff B-)

Added: I also just noticed that above Cruises.mobi "sold" for $5,060 in Mjnel's "reported .MOBI sales (with development requirements)" thread ... yet is now being re-auctioned again here at this upcoming Traffic event??!! Ooops! :guilty: :imho:

I would say this is a good thing for all sellers participating in the auction and hopefully will encourage more bidding overall.

I just got a glance at the Traffic West live auction results ... :guilty:

How many folks placed live, real-time bids from their home computers? :gl:

PS. Who purchased aforementioned "Shows.mobi", and for how much?
Thanks for the assist.
