I came here thinking I'd learn the best way to forward a domain and learn about the various benefit's of one type of redirect vs another...

BUT

you guys use domain names as a product?

cool... I thought that was a fad that faded 6 years ago and all the good dot com's were already taken

Looks to me like I'll be lurking for a while lest I reveal how much I don' t know (and should know given that I've been in Internet Marketing since 2000

If you don't understand the commodity aspect of domains and how they're a salable product, well, LOL.
I agree that about 90% of "domainers" are fighting a losing battle by creating and transacting in trash, but your post just smacks of a fundamental misunderstanding of "how things work" in the real world, where someone can own something that someone else wants.

For me, domains are geared almost entirely towards development.
To the person on Sedo to whom I just submitted a nice offer for his domain that was created less than a year ago, he may have a different view.

I wouldn't call domains as product.
It's more like "virtual property".
Not only domaining are alive, it's thriving for some people.
