Absolutely not! If you're talking about hand reg's, most good names are already gone. But you can sure jump into the aftermarket and find some great domains at very reasonable prices.

Not only is it not too late, this might be a good time to get involved before things start happening and prices start rising.

But remember, at this point it's still a bit of a risk. Then again, a lot of things that end up being good started out as risks.

There's still many good hand registers out there. I know of some nice one worders or combos right now. Just start searching.

Yeah, you shall consider to look through garrett sedo .mobi for stockpiling some .mobi while it is not too late.

Alternatives, what industry .mobi are you looking at. Tell us and we might be able to offer you some advices too.

Ask yourself, what are the most profitable industry in the world or internet. Individual have different answer. When you have the answer in your heart, tell us. We will give you advices based upon our experiences as .mobi still new. :bingo:

Don't spend any more money you can risk to "play" on. I am optimistic but this is a technology-related bet and things may change very rapidly. As long as you come in willing to lose and you dont get in trouble or depend on the money you spend registering domains...you'll be fine. It is like a game. But watch out, the game and this forum are addicting. One thing to ask you is to share what you learn on the way. We are all somehow united on this...
Welcome!

Definitely not too late to get into .mobi. Its probably too late to start regging mobi names but never too late to buy on aftermarket. Most of the premium names havent even been auctioned off by mTLD yet so you can still go after those and there are tons of mobi names for sale on the forums, afternic, and sedo.

This should be true of all investments, not just buying mobi domain names.

Knowing how to program would be a huge asset.

One idea is to develop one domain as a "base" domain for a "network" of sites all tied to each other. One example of this is www.topsongs.com

Note all of the websites they have as part of the WN Network. Note how they are all tied together. This is as good example of networked sites as I have found. A person could spend all day visiting sites within their network.

This is just one business model. There are lots of others. Decide what your 'end goal' is before spending your money.

Good luck,

Regards,

Sags

I just jumped on the wagon about a month ago, and have four pretty decent .mobis, so it's not too late. Three are one word dictionary names, and the other is a cvcv. So still some good pickings left.

I would say the good names are 99.99% gone...BUT there are some good names that would make great vanity sites...imo

example: a few days ago I regged "TheHacker.mobi" not worth big $ but could be a great site as a vanity thing...

disagree. there are plenty of decent to good names out there. the question becomes should one hand reg 10 decent names and hopefully hit something with a couple or spend the $100 on an aftermarket name with many trying to recoupe some money. also, keep in mind, that with the one name, your renewal fees will be lower.

Totally agree with this philosophy. Buying one good name for the $100 is money better spent, and savings on reg fees as you point out.

It's still a buyer's market out there guys, if you've got a little cash you'd be amazed at what you can get on the aftermarket.

Better than spending :$: looking for hand reg's. (I should take my own advice) :hehe:

i agree, can give that advice easy, can't implement it myself at all.

I have to add something about the aftermarket though. Its much better to deal with people that have prices, bins and set sale dates. Those that say make me an offer are rarely realistic or have time on their hands. also, like real estate, high prices are reflected by time on the market, etc.

Same here, it's such good advice too, why I keep regging names I don't know. Maybe cuz I find good ones? :)

I've got to stop the insanity though :yell: :'(

Maybe click my heels three times and say:

"There's no more good reg's left", "There's no more good reg's left", "There's no more good reg's left" :hehe:

Either that or block my IP from accessing GoDaddy. Saving us from ourselves! :'( :yell: :(
