A lot of investors make the mistake of assuming that only one approach is correct, that only one domain investing business model makes economic sense. Nothing could be farther from the truth and all you have to do to come to this conclusion is analyze a few successful domain investors.
For example, people like Frank Schilling own a huge number of domains and have done well by scaling. Other people, for example Rick Schwartz, own considerably less domains and have decided to focus more on quality. Both business models have been proven to work and this is the message I’m trying to get across: there’s more than one way to skin a cat.

Which category do you belong? The one with a large quantity of average domain names or a great quality but less quantity of domain names..

Thanks @Arpit131 for starting this very interesting thread.
Personally I have my plans to invest in a limited number of domains. Even If I have the budget to keep a very large portfolio, I belong to the side that prefers to hold a reasonable small inventory, say Less than 100 Domains at a time.
However, I have observed domaining is not very known. In general when we market a domain name to a community that has nothing to do with web development, it finds it quite difficult to understand how much that domain name could add value & help in rebranding their business.

First of all are you referring to a regular domainer who is not fs or rs because as a domainer and are u relating your question to already owning such domains, planning on buying domains in aftermarket or hand regging domains?

The reason I mention this is because as a fs or rs they have both quality and qty of both average and premium but thats relative.

As a regular Joe domainer for u to own premium domains is not possible anymore unless I have deep pockets of course.

If u want to fork out $ to speculate to oiwn a slew of average domains and hope that qty over quality makes u $ then why not just buy a few premium domains instead?

Not sure what your motive is in asking such a question really?

Who cares if fs has a ton of average domains he sells a % of and that rs has a few but sells for a whack of $$??!!

Any domainer knows these peoples reputations so the end question is r u planning on qty or quality?

Not sure why u even ask such anerbulous question to begin with ??
