I don’t feel anything can surprise me now .. not a nuclear war .. the sky falling .. nothing.. but i am not even half as worried now as opposed to two years ago about any incoming events that could occur .. it’s not good to feel hardened .. but it’s become a way of life now to me …

Oregon Senate President is asking for the National Guard to help stop illegal marijuana grows.

Illegal grows are bad for the environment, use huge amounts of water and are putting pressure on legal growers.

If growing hemp, marijuana is going to be a legit industry, they need to stop the narcos.

That pretty much shows how heavily the US media is censored. I had to look up TMTG. You have a tiny news network that will never amount to much going against the giants, who are united in their message and uninterested in the truth. The NY Times rattles on about internet censorship in China and Russia even while it participates in the same censorship at home. An elected president was banned from the internet, information harmful to the rival candidate was also banned.

At least in China and Russian, few people support such censorship, but in the US half the population happily cackles, "They are private companies - they can do what they want." (Ironically, these are often the same people who believe family owned bakeries must be forced to bake gay wedding cakes.)

I will never get over how gleefully Americans embraced fascism. It's one for this history books (if actual history books are allowed again in the future.)

It also depends on who's version/interpretation of the truth you believe. Every coin has two sides (ie. the whole section 230 debate).

I don't read NY Times, but their headlines are funny :xf.laugh::ROFL::xf.laugh:

I think any objective look at the facts shows that the Democrats have near total control of the media. This has been referred to as a threat to democracy by various European politicians who most Americans would describe as very liberal and no friend of Trump.

I would be appalled if the Republicans or Trump controlled the media that way, and blocked out Democrats - even those I despise. Authoritarianism 101. But it seems many Dem supporters aren't bothered by such things.

Authoritarianism 102 is where they find a group of political rivals to demonize and call terrorists. Basic stuff for dictatorships. That's why among the few coherent sentences Biden can utter, he takes such pains to remind us all of the threat of "white supremacists."

The latest illustration of your point:

A young girl was raped by a ( transgender ) boy. When the school tried to cover it up, the girls father went to a board meeting and was attacked by a "anti-racist" activist. He lost his temper and the media used his picture to create the stereotype of violent white parents objecting to trans-rights.

Now it has been reveled not only did the school board know about the ( violent ) rape, they covered it up and sent the boy to another school where he raped another child.
