I don't think there is value in third-level .in. Only .co.in for some prime keywords but it's going to look more and more like legacy.

I think premium keywords in .net.in and .org.in have some value, specially if the keywords have huge search numbers, purely due to the development potential. Don't think llls or other brandables will have much cache.

.ind.in .gen.in and .firm.in are not really worth getting into imo.

I recently researched on the 4L topic and the enormous gain in 4L.com sector. I found that people are trying to replicate the same in 4L.in & .co.in space.
In my view I think .in need not be that much globalized than it has to be localized (Cause we Indians are too many!). So won't the Indian market follow the Chinese trend of CHIPS and be domains that really mean something in HINDI, TAMIL, TELUGU, PUNJABI, MARATHI ..etc or will the valuables still be CVCV & all other .com successful combinations?
Thinking from the End-User , Indian point of view (considering most of the Indians are online) I think they can easily create a brand from a Hindi 4L rather than a lower end English CVCV.We Indians might consider it to be more pious than an English name.
These were just my thoughts and views.

I'm positive. The registrars have been "catching" them for friends. The registry supports no aftermarket transactions.
