A new era is upon us. Days of handling physical cash could be coming to an end. Most of us are familiar with bitcoin by now but there are many other "virtual coins" in existence. New coins are being brought to market at a swift pace.

Let's showcase related domains and discuss the possibilities of these new virtual coins. Like stocks, wise investments in this new currency can earn you a bundle in profits! Track values of 160+ coins below...

I am interested in these and tried to figure out how to get coins but have no idea how to mine so....

Yes, this is tricky. You can always just buy at market value instead of mining.

If you want to get hold of some of the more obscure currencies, like Protoshares or CryptogenicBullion, an easy way is to buy some bitcoin (e.g. coinbase for US, bitbargain for UK) send it to a bitcoin wallet address at an exchange like Cryptsy or Bter and trade it there for your coin of choice.

This at least protects you from buying at vastly over inflated prices at say Ebay. e.g. I've just seen 1 million infinitecoin (IFC) for sale at £160 ($200). At the moment 1 million IFC on Cryptsy will cost you 0.07 bitcoin - about $40.

I appreciate this post is a departure from domaining but hopefully it will stop any members from getting ripped off - check the rates first on coinmarketcap...

Time to step in here...

Hello everyone,

I thought this might be the best thread to introduce myself, because the people on it have all demonstrated that they desperately need my insights. ;)

My name is Luke, and I've been a bitcoiner since 2011. I've mined BTC and several altcoins, traded them profitably, studied the code & cryptography behind them in depth, studied the Economics behind them obsessively, own several bitcoin-related domains and a bitcoin-only business, kept up with the global regulations and tax situations, and I basically spend hours a day, every single day, keeping up with the latest news and trends in bitcoin, and by proxy all of its' offshoot technology worth keeping track of.

I am not going to try to impress you guys with my prior prognostications, but let's just say more than a few people have made fortunes off my advice when bitcoin jumped up 8,000% last year.

Why am I telling you guys this?

Because none of those guys know dick about domaining.

I'm currently sitting on tons of domains that aren't earning me nearly as much as they used to, and frankly I just want to get rid of them now and focus on my bitcoin businesses.

So let's work out a deal, shall we? I'll spill some really juicy facts and predictions about bitcoin and altcoins, tell you guys exactly where its' all leading, point you guys to the best sources of information to keep track of the cryptocurrency world, and I'll even take the time to really answer your questions for you very well... All I'm looking for in return is some handholding & good advice while I try to get top dollar for my domain pool.

Sound good?

Let's start with parking... I should move them away from the non-performing sites to park in the meantime, right? I've read enough here to know that I can do better than Sedo. So what does that leave, Afternic, Goddammy, Zeropark, theparkingplace, Voodoo, & Bodis? What's best for my needs here?

Looking forward to working with you guys,
Luke

Some folks here really know domaining. If you want to sell your domains, start contacting potential endusers. If you have solid inventory, they will buy or at least make offers.

PM me a list...

Thanks for answering Keith.

I honestly don't know how "solid" they are, but they all made me some money in adsense or affiliate marketing at some point or I wouldn't have them after all these years.

They're mostly keyword1keyword2.com net or orgs, but some are keyword1-keyword2.tld for the more competitive terms. All topics under the sun from health to educational to tax to specific product categories.

I'm putting them together now, trying to decide which did well enough for me to keep and which I'm going to sell... I've had them monetized 5 different ways over the years so it's a lot of data to go through first before I let anyone see them.

The top two would be great for someone writing a blog/portal about bitcoin exchanges, such as arbitragers. There's only 20 or so exchanges online across the planet right now, but in 2014 I expect that number to Triple, and such a blog or even industry rag would be very in-demand then.

Some of those doge domains aren't bad at all, but the coin itself seems to have only one function: Tipping other people over sites like reddit or twitter. No real-world merchants accept it. The few Doge-specific online casinos out there don't have much traffic because of this issue; it's not really meant as a serious currency, and it's still mainly for high-school kids. (Who are too young to gamble.) So those are mostly a bust, I'd say... Doge can't keep growing much longer.

What does everyone think about domainnamesales.com? Would I be smarter to use them to both park & sell, or should I separate the functionality out like I asked originally?

Fabcoin.com

Just a quick story: In late March, I was at a conference in Baltimore. Next door at the Baltimore Convention Center was a coin show. I had been to this coin show before and like it because the vendors also sell minerals and specimens (the quartz, fluorite, etc. variety), so I decided to attend between my own sessions at the conference I was supposed to be attending. I'm not so interested in coins per se (although I have a few).

Anyway, I found myself in a long line (thinking that it was the admittance line). I soon discovered that it was the baseball coin line. The U.S. Mint was selling first-day issue Hall of Fame coins but were limiting amounts that buyers could purchase.

The vendors at the show were paying double what the mint was charging -- in my mind, a no-brainer.

Long story short: I spent more time at the coin show than I did at my own conference and came home with a $600.00 profit, plus a topaz ring and some specimens.

Fab coin, indeed.

I love when life hands you a lemonade with a splash of rum.
