So, the short version is, no you are not in favor of freedom of speech. The exceptions you cite make that clear. You want some powerful and unaccountable entity to control what you see and hear.

Sorry, but that's what you wrote. Freedom means making up your own mind with all arguments presented.

Are you aware of what you're posting? Or who you support? Trump just said in regards to Twitter:

"We will strongly regulate, or close them down"

    Are you ok with that?

Uh oh, what's happening - 42% approval from his favorite place - https://www.rasmussenreports.com/pu...p_administration/trump_approval_index_history

This is the one he tweets out all the time.

    Lowest in 2.5 years.

Is it the mask stuff? Where he tried to mask shame Biden then telling a reporter he's wearing a mask to be politically correct? Something else? What else has he done in the last week to get the lowest number in 2.5 years?

1A and a lot more are being violated, our forefathers wrote the constitution exactly for a time like we are having right now, they pretty much said “Question your government”

No way average people can question any government today, not local, state or federal, the very people that you pay will tell you to sit down and shut up or just go away. To much Power equals to corruption, it has all through out history and it has never been fixed until the empire collapsed. We have no say in much of anything today IMO

What does that have to do with Twitter adding in those little warnings? Trump can still tweet just fine. There is no pass where you can go on somebody else's platform and violate their rules, have a free for all.

Nothing to do with twitter, just the 1A and ect.

they did say they would strongly regulate and even shut down social media sources if necessary, I do remember that. To many double standards and out right corruption, far far to much power, we need a full clean slate to be able to clean up this mess and that will never happen, the power won’t be relinquished, so I guess in the end, the empire will have to collapse on its own, at the expense of the people as it has always been when an empire collapses.

I am just glad that I am the age that I am, I feel really bad for the children that are going to have to brave the future 30 years from now.

I am trying really hard to break my bad habit of cussing @JB Lions ;)

Trump can't shut down Twitter. And then how can Trump supporters even be ok with that, because it goes against all that free speech chatter. Their platform, their rules.

It's very simple, in regards to Laura Loomer getting banned:

"The appeals court judges said that, despite the companies’ power, they cannot violate the First Amendment because it regulates only governments, not the private sector."

Appeals court ruling suggests little legal traction for Trump's anti-Twitter campaign
    https://www.politico.com/news/2020/05/27/trump-twitter-court-ruling-284632

Trumpers keep crying about the First Amendment but they don't even understand it.

    You're being purposely obtuse.

AL SOS: Six convictions for voter fraud. Five convictions of fraud involved using mail in ballots. 2 elections overturned because of fraud involving mail in ballots.

    Voter Fraud doesn't happen.

    Here a list.

    But mail in ballots.

    -No voter ID
    -No notary/witness requirements
-Effectively no applications (voters get mail in ballots for all future elections)
    -Effectively ban signature requirements
    -Mandatory ballot harvesting everywhere

Twitter isn't violating the #1A per say, they are breaking the contract, in exchange for not being held responsible for what their users publish, they will allow free speech.

It's really very simple. If they take an editorial stance, then they are liable for the content published on their platform. Right now, they are protected because they claim to be an agnostic platform - like the telephone. That absolves them from responsibility for the content. So treat them like any other publisher that exercises editorial oversight. Sue them for libel. Sue them out of business. Problem solved.

Unfortunately there are a lot of naieve and gullible people out there who will swallow anything Trump says, an authority who recommends to drink bleach or inject light? Just like guns, words can kill.

Really? Those masses of people who went out and drank bleach, and overwhelmed ERs? I don't remember that. Protect the naive by controlling all information. Sounds like a good excuse for Big Brother.

If words can kill, control over words kills many times more. Look at history.

There are lots of countries now where you can live and feel safe because the government controls what you see and hear. North Korea is lovely this time of year, for example.

Basically the point is, Trump has no REAL power because with REAL power comes responsibility, and he takes neither, for his actions nor his words.

He could develop Trumptalk - his own forum.

Donald Trump is starting a messy fight with the entire internet
As reported yesterday byThe Washington Post, Trump will order the Federal Communications Commission and Federal Trade Commission to roll back the liability protections enjoyed by tech companies under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.

Sometimes called the most important law on the internet, Section 230 exempts companies from most liability for speech on their platform and gives them broad discretion in how they moderate speech.
