A brand TLD is a brand TLD and nothing more. There was a lot of talk about how things would change when the brand TLDs started using their TLDs but that ignores the reality that they are extreme niche TLDs. They don't point to other new gTLDs and they don't reference other new gTLDs so the logic of the argument that the brand TLDs will encourage growth in the new gTLDs is faulty. And the brands won't be giving up their .COM or .ccTLD just yet.Barclays are already using their own extension. But I can't have mine. So for me it doesn't change a thing. Will I want a .xyz or a .horse just because Barclays are running on .barclays ? Hell no.
What do you think will change? .OVH already operates on that in-brand domain model.we knew that Google and Amazon owned dozens of new gTLDs, they are going to launch them this year, the same in China, 360.com and alibaba group ... , all of them have huge traffices, if they rev up publicity on their website , we can imagine the blueprint of new gTLDs.
