Hello everyone,

Have you ever come across a time, when you found an available domain at reg fee, and you feel its the best domain in the world at that point, and you go register it.

Then then you tried selling it, but receive no sales, then your mind goes... awww man.. I just wasted 7 bucks on that domain.

 anyone had similar feelings ?

Had a similar feeling when I regged a few different variations of a name when I was new to domaining and later discovered I regged the typos of those variations. Luckily for me, I got them refunded!

Great deep sea photography btw!

Yeah, that has happened to me a few times, but I try to develop and create worth, and then it seems as though it is ok :)

I registered a domain and later found out that barefootech ( NPer ) had previously owned it and tried - unsuccessfully - to sell it here for like ten bucks.

Aaron, I am trying to register at Moniker (deletes for 0.25) for that reason. Some of my impulsive buys work out, and others don't.

Too many times when you are a newbie. . . and I am.

Trial and error.

If the domain is storng enough, you should have no problem flipping it in the 96 hours you have. I do it once and awhile. You can do it at Godaddy as well, but the process is a bit longer. You have to call, but I do not think they charge you the $0.25.

I don't think you can know if a new reg domain has value in only 5 days. Afterall, this process was put in place to undo mistakes in registrations, not to evaluate it's value. Of course, if you can flip it, great. But do you really then take the refund on every domain you register but can't flip. Sounds like a torturous way to earn a crumb.

Yes that's happened to me...but mostly last year when I was a newbie.

Here's a couple of "gems" I regged (I was really excited too)

What I was talking about wasn't if you weren't able to SELL a domain but if you change your mind after registering it.

I've totally had that happen. A few times. And usually they will be GREAT website names, if developed.. I just don't get around to developing them and w/o the site the DN is not worth too much.

Had a few that I registered for a site, but decided later not to do a site... and couldn't even give the domain away for free for a few days.

I thought it was a good domain... :p
