It happened on 23rd Aug 2022 and this matter lasted almost one month without any process. Masterbucks.com declined my fund withdrawal and disabled the button of fund withdrawal. And I contacted Epik.com and got no further action even if Rob Monster got involved in it for two weeks. All the time I was told in email by management review.

What is wrong with Epik.com? Do you think it is normal to disable fund withdrawal? How can I get back my fund from Epik.com? Thanks for your suggestion.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I noticed the Trustpilot reviews for Epik.com now say -

"Masterbucks LLC / Epik Holdings Inc"

https://www.trustpilot.com/review/epik.com

I think it is clear there is some effort afoot to dissociate the negative "old" Epik.com reviews from "new" Epik.com.

When you acquire an asset, like a registrar, you purchase the good and bad history.

All they are trying to do is dupe new customers (suckers).

Also, who is Pike.com in their Trustpilot info?

How are they related to Epik?

Did they just mess up spelling "Epik"?

As per the current T&C:

11. DOMAIN TRANSFERS

When we receive a transfer request, we will call You to verify the transfer request. If we cannot reach You within 72 hours of receipt of the transfer request, the transfer will be denied. If You do not provide the proper PIN, the transfer will be denied. When we receive a change of account request, we will call You to verify the change request. If we cannot reach You within 72 hours of receipt of the change request, the change will be denied. If You do not provide the proper PIN, the change will be denied.

very interesting...

Next up: they're going to request an approval by snail mail with a copy of your id.

It's just marketing fluff, about as meaningful as Epik's old "Swiss Bank of Domains" slogan.

Epik is not independent. They are subject to ICANN polices just like every other registrar.

Without ICANN's accreditation they would simply not exist.

Who wants an "independent" registrar that has a history of scamming customers and secretive "new" ownership?

Brad

Per ICANN:

"The Administrative Contact and the Registered Name Holder, as listed in the Losing Registrar's or applicable Registry's (where available) publicly accessible Whois service are the only parties that have the authority to approve or deny a transfer request to the Gaining Registrar."

Amateur hour all over again. About to report them to ICANN.

Not even "Infowars.com" stuck with Epik...I just checked out of curiousity and they too are now registered with CloudFlare. So Epik can't even keep Infowars and Gab anymore haha...

I just transferred my last domain names from Epik, without issue. Goodbye Epik! I did not have to attain a PIN to complete the transfer out.

Yes, "boycott call" works only for a service that is easy to replace (no registrar is truly irreplaceable). Cloudflare is vital for too many business.

Nope. All we know is that the owners are supposedly some rich ranchers in Texas.

Transfer terms are changed again. Now they call (as the trustpilot member states), but there is no such a thing in the current T&C.

09/16 version:

Current version:

11. DOMAIN TRANSFERS

If you transfer any domain name, you agree to provide the information required by, and to abide by, the procedures and conditions set forth in our this Agreement and governed by ICANN Policy. In order to further protect your domain name, any domain name registered with Epik or transferred to Epik may be placed on lock status, unless an opted-out option has occurred. The domain name must be placed on unlock status in order to initiate a transfer of the domain name away from Epik to a new registrar. You may log into your User Account with Epik at any time after your domain name has been successfully transferred to Epik, and change the status to unlock.

My guess is that there were complaints filed with ICANN.

ICANN probably pointed out how that language is not compliant with ICANN transfer policy, then Epik changed the language in the TOS.

https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/transfer-policy-2016-06-01-en

3.9 Instances when the requested change of Registrar may not be denied include, but are not limited to:
3.9.1 Nonpayment for a pending or future registration period.
3.9.2 No response from the Registered Name Holder or Administrative Contact.
3.9.3 Domain name in Registrar Lock Status, unless the Registered Name Holder is provided with the reasonable opportunity and ability to unlock the domain name prior to the Transfer Request.
3.9.4 Domain name registration period time constraints, other than during the first 60 days of initial registration, during the first 60 days after a registrar transfer, or during the 60-day lock following a Change of Registrant pursuant to Section II.C.2.
3.9.5 General payment defaults between Registrar and business partners / affiliates in cases where the Registered Name Holder for the domain in question has paid for the registration.

However, did they actually change the policy itself? Maybe not, according to that review.

And, ICANN must still be working hard to approve (or deny) accreditation transfer. It is certainly possible that they denied it, but did not tell anybody. As per ICANN website, current accredited entity is "Epik Inc." with Bryce Myrvang as public contact, not "Epik LLC". Legally and technically, can Epik(s) forever operate this way? At least, registries and ICANN itself are fine with receiving $$$ from LLC, as in their twitter the LLC stated that "all debts were paid" - presumably by the new Wyoming LLC...
