It happened on 23rd Aug 2022 and this matter lasted almost one month without any process. Masterbucks.com declined my fund withdrawal and disabled the button of fund withdrawal. And I contacted Epik.com and got no further action even if Rob Monster got involved in it for two weeks. All the time I was told in email by management review.

What is wrong with Epik.com? Do you think it is normal to disable fund withdrawal? How can I get back my fund from Epik.com? Thanks for your suggestion.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Mastercard should have shut down this infringing brand a long time ago, as well.
They should rebrand as VisaBucks.

I honestly think that there is nothing confusingly similar or infringing with masterbucks to MasterCard. Master is a generic word. And master bucks has nothing to do with credit cards or any sort of consumer credit that I can tell

As an aside, I used to own Masterbucks.com. I bought it from an annuity broker called personalized brokerage services out of Kansas back when I was an insurance agent. It was their internal rewards program for brokers who sold a certain amount of annuities and got swag or something. When they discontinued the program I contacted them and bought the name for 75 bucks.

I later sold it for a few grand to an anonymous company that used it for an affiliate program for pornography websites. Get it? Master bucks like masturbate money. It was that way for a short time and then next thing I knew epik had it. I don't know if epik was the owner the entire time or if the company I sold the name to sold it to epik.

My new review on Trustpilot is live.
Extremely correct and accurate.
Will Epik flag it?

I am going to post it here in case they do.

On the other reviews that were flagged it says - "Epik.com flagged this review for containing harmful or illegal content."

"Harmful" in that context does not mean to your business, even though the review is accurate.

There is nothing to flag.

The key to "legendary" customer support is being unresponsive.

If we could have a debt auction, how much would you give for my $55,433.64?

I suspect as soon as Masterbucks is back open there is going to be a bank run to withdraw funds.
October 10th is approaching. We will see what happens.

For the people who use Masterbucks now, after this debacle do you plan on using it in the future?

And those who live outside the United States can contact The Attorney General of Washington?

Yes. Just to be clear, the Attorney General is the highest law enforcement authority in a state, and they typically have jurisdiction over a wide range of consumer protection laws. Because it is an elected position in many states, they also tend to have relatively accessible tools to help people report the behavior of businesses within their jurisdiction. Where you are from is not an issue.

I honestly think that there is nothing confusingly similar or infringing with masterbucks to MasterCard.

It's great to have your honest opinion.

It turns out that Mastercard's lawyers have a different one and have been engaged in 81 Trademark Trial and Appeal Board proceedings challenging a trademark application tangentially related to financial services with the word "master" in it:

The list goes on for quite a few pages, and it might be educational to look a the range of marks they've filed against (indicated in the second column as above).

Oh, That company again.

I wonder why people don't just cancel them.

Well, how many registrars are left that have not yet been "burned at the stake," at one time or another, on the Namespro forum?
But let's see what the frustrated masses here think about moving on to other registrars/aftermarket venues. The challenge may be Epik appears was very strong in accepting a variety of cryptocurrencies. Is there any other large marketplace out there that is comparable in the crypto arena?

I have some insider information saying that one of their bank accounts was frozen hence the problem, also been reliably informed that earnest actions are underway to unfreeze said account. The delay in addressing the concerns of customers surely did nothing to assuage fears hence the tension & heightened pressure to release funds.

However, I believe battling with legal action as well tackling the bank's processes for unfreezing accounts may put immense pressure on the new CEO. I do hope things take a turn for good because I also have funds tied up in Masterbucks. Looking forward to the 10th I guess
If that were the case its been frozen since August when the complaints first started.

It doesn’t matter why— the fact that no one has explained the actual truth publicly and apologized profusely is unacceptable . Just some canned lie about updating the faulty operation of MB which no one believes. Updates or upgrades don’t take months.

Can you go 2 weeks without paying your bills? A month? Most can’t.

Also the Epik badges have never been more silent. We need to find out why they are actually here if not to speak on Epik.

Peter R forgot to mention that if you sell a domain with Epik, I believe you are presently unable to receive the funds from the sale. Pretty glaring omission from Peter R.
Hi

question:

are sales still being transacted there?
and if so,
are commissions still being charged?

also, how are users renewing or paying for new registrations?

in other words, is cash still flowing in, but not out?

don't have any names there, so trying to get idea of that part.

Thanks

imo...

By the way, I can't seem to find a TM registered for MasterBucks
Quite frankly, it is unlikely they would be able to successfully register that as a mark. Almost any sort of application for “Master—-“ for financial services is opposed by MasterCard. I realize that NP members take an optimistic view of these sorts of things, but if “MasterBucks” were ever to gain substantial recognition as a payment service, MasterCard would definitely take notice and take action. It’s one of the reasons why the notion of it becoming a PayPal competitor, under that name, is profoundly unrealistic.

My thoughts are:

Unless Mastercard has a trademark for "Master" for financial services, they should be called out for overreaching abuse....if they tried to prevent MasterBucks from being trademarked. Is there a deterrent for overreaching abuse?

MastercardBucks would be confusing/infringing.

@rumevic shared a recent sale with a screenshot of a Masterbucks transaction.

Maybe rumevic can tell more about this.

The Empire Strikes Back
Ok, at least somebody is happy. Peter from Japan, with perfect (native) English, most likely in the midst of busy schedules of a foreigner/traveler, found time to create an account @ trustpilot and posted a detailed review. Great. Lets hope that this review is genuine.

Interesting to read that Epik believes that last year's hack was handled professionally and transparently.

I wonder what experts in the data and cybersecurity fields think about that?

I know they didn't seem too impressed with storing sensitive information in plain text, among other things.

The vast majority of information about what happened came from 3rd parties, not Epik.

It reads more like a press release than a review.

If I'm not mistaken, a number of experts got involved in the discussion at the time. It's a shame that so little attention has been paid to the Epik breach on NamePros.

155 pages:
https://www.namepros.com/threads/epik-had-a-major-breach.1252094/

Unfortunately, Epik never bothered to explicitly confirm (with a 3rd party audit!) that their systems were patched (upgraded, fixed, etc.), together with the backend software. Since they now request new verifications and repeated verifications for masterbucks users, it raises just one question: are they really able to protect Personally identifiable information submitted? What if their systems were never completely cleaned, what if the hackers are still inside?
