I remember in H.S., Terrible Herbst (self serve) stations selling gas at 22.9 cents a gallon.
I had my aunts 60 Corvair (yes that one) and I couldnt put $2.00 in the tank. (8 gal tank)
You could also get a qt of used oil for a quarter, which was great for my friends 56 olds that used a qt or two a tank... lol

Everyone would chip in their nickels and dimes and we had gas to get to the beach.

By the time I was in college all that all changed...

    Peace,
    Kenny

    Wow...HERBST remembered!
Back before he bought all those casinos.
    Including one in Iowa....
    Terrible's in Osceola.
Worked there as a guard for 6 months.
Oh, that was after I had retired and moved to Iowa.

Jerry Herbst, the 70-year-old owner, chairman and president of Terrible Herbst, which runs gasoline stations, retail operations and casinos in Southern Nevada, recently bought Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage's mansion.

    I recently binged on:

    Black Summer (2 seasons).
I'm not usually interested in zombie horror but this was really well done because it concentrated on the (very violent) conflicts between survivors.

    Gallipoli (2015) seven episode mini-series.
Following two young Aussie brothers fighting on the beaches in Turkey during the Great War. It covers the complete campaign from the first landing to the last man. An historically accurate anti-war film and very well done.
    https://www.netflix.com/watch/81445837
I'm not sure if this one will be available outside Australia.

Roku tv is great, with so many apps that are specialized (all westerns, all star trek, etal).
Roku also has a lot of of their own shows now...with more coming every month.

It is a break from the regular cable for sure.

Now if only amazon would make their channel 100% free to prime members!
