SPECIAL SPECIAL GUESTS
Blobfish and girlfriend.

Grace Delete / DefaultUser / WorldsWorstDomainer will personally thank EVERY SINGLE post in this thread UNTIL someone says something about post count and gets too obsessed about reputations and starts gaming the system etc.

^ That has happened so no more ...was fun while it lasted.

Johname will personally LIKE every post in this thread until he doesn't

No racist, sexist, homophobic material that woudnt be acceptable in the 70s please.
We are ok with boobs and we are ok with men with abs (or whatever it is that makes them attractive). Ogling is healthy. Violence, not accepting that it is shallow and non-meaninful judge of people etc. is not. The most important virtue of this thread is respect for all.

Here are some topics that this thread has had:

POLITICS OF ANY KIND IS A NO NO.
Especially if it is demeaning to the liberal elite or the conservative morons.

I suppose Anarchy is ok

I AM PERSONALLY UNDECIDED ON SOME POLITICS so things like the below?
I think the crowd should decide.

ET would never talk to me again if I say that kit box is missing it's banana shape outer case parts. LOL

What are going to build ET?
I have a couple of thoughts, but don’t have any big project in mind yet. I always wanted to learn more about electronics (I’m comfortable disemboweling a computer, including enterprise level hardware, and adding/removing/replacing components, but that’s it). I’m going to go play with this for a while and learn - I’m sure to get project ideas as I go. I used to be a C programmer, and arduino is all in C / C++ so that’s a plus, even if I end up mostly downloading and tweaking preexisting code.

Olympic Origins:
Cross-Country Skiing – Wow, it’s really snowy, and I’ve got to get over there as quickly as possible.
Biathlon – Wow, it’s really snowy, and there’s a bunch of people over there that need to be shot.
Downhill Skiing – I’m at the top of the mountain, and I really need to be at the bottom of the mountain in a few minutes.

Or surfing on snow..
Hats off to this Canadian that nearly died 11 months ago in an accident, broke 17 bones and just finished winning a Bronze Medal in the Snowboarding Slopestyle at the Winter Olympics... Quite a feat!!!

The Gold medal winner is that little guy in the middle, Red Gerard, an American that's only 17 years old.

Bitcoin mining? Is this one of those small computers that run linux?

You’re thinking of raspberry pi? Nope - just a microprocessor board, some sensors and controls.
You could do something with it that incorporates a raspberry pi.

I like seeing people doing these projects in hardware. Enjoy.

LOL - some good ideas there!
A bot that parses nonsensical emails from clients and replies to them would be nice, but that’s just a programming challenge.

Now they are opening doors...
Imagine putting a child safety on the door handle and watching a robot struggle with it.

Nice they have geothermal energy. lol.

This year, electricity use at Bitcoin mining data centres is likely to exceed that of all Iceland's homes, according to Johann Snorri Sigurbergsson.

Or grease up the knob. Lot's of wasted unnecessary motions in order to make it entertaining. Like the graceful motion, the foot outside the door thing. really is cool. Like to see one do the tango next. It's coming, but the lasers and machine guns first.

That's awesome. Where'd you find it?

In the midst of technophiles here..likey likey but too smart for Daddy. Tried playing around with a Netduino kit a few years back- almost got the light to flash on and off after a few hours. Wasn't too impressed (although flashing lights are pretty neat- actually so are shiny objects) so ripped open my computer and moved the jumpers around on my hard drive from master to slave just to make myself feel better.
