The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
David and Michael, it is an honor to welcome you to NamePros!

For those of you that don't recognize the name, the Castello Brothers are legendary domainers. They have been visionaries in the domain name industry for 20+ years and have millions of dollars of sales to show for it. Their portfolio is among the best in the world!

Agreed. But the thing is if anyone is investing in domains and they have not heard of David and Michael Castello - well it means they haven't read enough yet about domaining and they should do a lot more research before going any further. :xf.wink:

Hello Bros!

Welcome to Namepros! It's worth to read the story of Rate.com on your FAQ:

"One night, our traffic to Rate.com shot through the roof – literally up over 10,000%. We were baffled until we caught an evening infomercial for Rate.net.

The people behind Rate.net paid a fortune for those commercials only to have the traffic go straight to our Rate.com.

That’s because the public always decides. Always. And you’d better make it as easy as possible for them to remember you.

The quickest way to lose thousands, even millions, of dollars is to not acquire an instantly memorable and unforgettable premium dotCOM domain name."

By the way, you have an AMAZING PORTFOLIO! Congrats!
Thank you, Sutruk!

Hello!

Everybody here on NamePros is familiar with the DN Journal and, several years ago ( 2015 ) the DN Journal had a feature article about the legendary Castello Brothers.

A worthy read!

Welcome to NamePros!

A quick question for you about your portfolio for sale on CastelloBrothers.com if I may.

- The domains listed on CastelloBrothers.com is much shorter than the list published on Robbiesblog.com a couple of weeks ago, are the names not listed on CastelloBrothers.com therefore your 'holds' or for development, or are they to be added to your site soon?

You see you bring intrigue with your first post on here! :xf.cool:

TheBaldOne, there are a lot more that were posted on BobbiesBlog. We have been in the register/purchase/invest/develop model since 1994. The internet has changed in many ways, some good some bad. In the early days of the WWW we enjoyed putting up content that the internet expected and deserved. When we put up PalmSprings.com in 1995, people were hungry to see a virtual site of the area that they could visit. The internet was mostly barren land. We attracted lots of interest. When you have that kind of inherent traffic, it is a lot easier to convert it to revenue. We found that future visitors to the area could create their itinerary months in advance, which was a great benefit to them and ultimately our bank account. At PalmSprings.com peak, the front page alone was making $700k a year. The only overhead was a $60 a month virtual server. Most of that money was net.

Since those times, a lot of larger companies have gotten into the "space". Having 200 websites became way to much work to counter that kind of competition. No doubt, having a brand like Nashville.com with the right attention, would be a huge success. Now, our company CCIN is just managing several sites now like Nashville.com, PalmSprings.com, WestPalmBeach.com and Traveler.com to name a few.

The others we are putting out for sale or lease. These are gems that we have had since as far back as 1995. I think it is time for those large portfolio holders to start selling some of their generic names. Google has way too much control of the traffic and advertising dollars. They taught visitors over time that they could find relevant information 100% of the time. If someone currently places a generic .com in their browser URL, maybe 50% of the time they will get the exact expected content. We need to change that. I hope that all of the generic domain names can be managed by not only large corporations but start-ups like you and me. We all need to change the power dynamic in order to get a slice of the virtual pie. It only takes one great idea and one great domain name.

Many of our names shown on Robbiesblog are not being renewed. We're cleaning house and the names for sale at CastelloBrothers.com are names we don't have the time to develop, but we believe could be a goldmine in the right hands. To date, we've pulled over $20 million in revenue out of PalmSprings.com, Nashville.com is turning into a monster and we've just launched Kennel.com. Regardless, there are only so many hours in a day. :)

@Castello Brothers

I remember this article well Ron did a great job, as a drummer myself it made it seem all that much cooler.
Thank you! As drummers, we'll never get that beat out of our blood! With touring cancelled, here and in the UK, and with Bree pregnant with our first child, it may be a while before we hit the stage again, but we sure do miss it! :)
