Hi everyone! The 3D market appears to be exploding! Record takes at the box office by movies such as Avatar and Alice in Wonderland and the announcement this week of the new 3D TV which is set to hit markets shortly have helped buoy interest in 3D multimedia platforms. Even the major American television network NBC has jumped in and will be broadcasting the NCAA Final Four basketball games in 3D!

A direct beneficiary from this renewed interest and greatly improved 3D technology is the domain business. Some of you had foresight many years ago and reg'd great names early on. Others (myself included) have only become aquainted with 3D domaining more recently, but see the huge potential this market has opened up for domainers.

Let this be the place for you to show off your 3D domain names. Ask for opinions, marketing strategies or even an appraisal or guesstimation of value. Also, feel free to post any relevant news releases/articles related to the 3D industry.

I will start the thread off with a few of my own reg's..

3DHighDefinitionTV.com (also have plural)
3DHomeEntertainment.co.uk
3DHometheaters.org
3DStreamingMovie.com
3DVancouver.com
3DWhistler.com

Saucey. ;)

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Meanwhile.... Here in the UK, Sony have entered the TV advertising race for their 3D televisions, specifically targeting the term "3D".
It's my belief that the manufacturers have delayed targeting the term "3D" to clear their stocks of HDTV's which are not 3D compatible. Will have to wait and see if the others follow suit.
Have started getting clicks around $1 on my 3D names over the last few days. Hope it lasts.

There are literally an infinite number of 3D domains - many in .com.

I can't see the point of this constantly posting available lists. To prove this I just went out and looked at 3d areas that I have previously had an interest (outside of domaining).

3dSurfaceScan.com <---7 Ads
3dProfiling.com <---11 Ads
3dLandSurvey.com

Even 3dLand.net

This was in under 2 minutes. I think some of these are better than a lot of what I've seen in here. All three of these are part of viable businesses as evidenced by the ad count.

Good luck to you all.

3dbabyscans.com

Did you pick this up at snapnames on the drop? I was going to manually pull this off the drop and didn't get it so I presumed it was a backorder.

Let me know if you're interested in similar domains.

As far as I can see, there was only one post removed a few days ago
from a new member who should have posted it in the 3d Adult thread.

What else is missing?

It's hard to say isn't it. I just remember seeing a response to me on my email and then when I came back I was the last poster again..

Certainly didn't have anything to do with adult.

I don't care that much - just thought it was weird

Looks like it was the post made a few hours after yours.
With it being an adult name - the "live site" is probably why it was removed.

I watched the video you posted. What did you expect?
It was clearly a promotion tool for your domains.

Remember what Roxio did for home 'burning' of CDs and DVDs? This new software will let folks make and burn 3D Blu-ray discs, as well as encode for upload to YouTube.

The fact that Roxio software is often bundled with new computers, combined with the fact that they have a 350 million customer base... means "3D VideoLab" could be huge... for the (much needed) production of 3D content for and from the home video market.

I think people are much more likely to buy 3D cameras and 3D TV sets if they can produce and view their own 3d photos and home videos, than say watching Avatar, for the umpteen time, or even playing that 3d video game, again and again.

Roxio Unveils VideoLab 3D

"With Roxio VideoLab 3D, consumers can use familiar video editing tools to turn raw 3D footage and converted 2D content into engaging and immersive 3D home movies, complete with titles, transitions, and effects. The finished results can be exported in a range of formats, including the RealD Format for a cinematic-quality 3D viewing experience on 3D-enabled home PCs and HDTVs. In addition, projects may be uploaded and shared via YouTube in 3D. Roxio VideoLab 3D is compatible with a broad range of PC hardware, including all major graphics cards and 3D display technologies."

I am now taking bets over PayPal for how many domains 3dDomainNames is going to spam in a roundabout way from pages 90-100.
