You are comparing a tiny sample of one word .group and .sh type one word names sold at wholesale to hundreds of two word .com names.

This quality of analysis from you explains a lot.

Hi Tully, thanks for the feedback. You're right, it's a specific snapshot focused on multi-word trends. It was a deep dive on a specific trend, but the broader context is the key.

Always appreciate the insights from the community.

Sorry, but one random day of sales is certainly not a "trend".

And certainly nothing to do with niche domains either

That's a fair point, and you're absolutely rightโ€”a single day's data doesn't constitute a trend in the traditional sense.

The goal of this analysis was more of a detailed "spot check" or market snapshot to see what types of domains were actually selling right now and for how much. It highlights current buyer demand and liquidity patterns, which can be valuable for investors even without a long-term trend line.

Thanks for keeping the discussion precise!

And certainly not a Gold Rush.
You're right, it's not a gold rush for the prospectors picking up random rocks.

It's a gold rush for those with the right maps. The data shows that 61.7% of the "gold" (sales) coming out of the ground are longtail domains. The "rush" isn't for everyone; it's for investors who know to focus on the 2-word .com vein, which yielded an average of $1,847 per strike in this snapshot.

Thanks for your view. But I see it differently. A longtail domain is a niche domain. The data shows that buyers are spending thousands on these highly specific names, which are by definition targeting a niche audience or business model.

Your definition of longtail is still incorrect, and you've been told that in many of your threads. Stop the obsession.

You are just disagreeing or opposing in the context and mindset of opposing. This will not change the fact or real trends.

Under the OP's definition, a domain like RealEstate.com would be a long-tail domain. :)

Thanks, Brad, for your comment. The 'RealEstate' example is a rare single-word domain, which wasn't the focus of my analysis. If you look at domains like bpdoingherbest.com, and several other longtail names in the data, you'll see they were acquired by end-users happily. This is the specific trend I was highlighting.

You need to distinguish between domains being sold for intrinsic brand value and SEO value.

Some shitty long domain selling because it has traffic, pagerank, backlinks, etc. is very different from a raw domain sale.

Yeah, you can always lead a horse to water, but sometimes you gotta shoot it.
John and I were down at the corral one day talking and he told me that, we were actually talking about women, but he said master of my domains. This will apply to a lot of things in your life
Perfect example right here

That's true. Some members here are heavily invested on short word and single word domain which are linguistically meaning less. Now end users are picking those two word/longtail keyword domains which are relevant to their business module. 60% sales data of longtail/ multiword domains is not a small thing.

This trend is also moving up word day by day. This is a clear cut message. But some are not agreeing to these real fact. Agree/non agree can never change the trend.
