yea they took it out :hehe:

EDIT: Update from Article

UPDATE: This outing made the front page of Digg and del.ici.ous, and is currently the top story at Techmeme and Reddit. Due to the publicity, you can watch the indexed pages of these domains shrink right before your eyes. The current site: count for eiqz2q.org is 700,000,000 down from 5,550,000,000. I assume it will be 0 in a matter of hours. While a hand job will work for now, when will the indexing algorithm be repaired?

Yeah but it was good while it lasted. Iโ€™m really happy Google de-indexed so many actual quality websites with โ€œlow quality inbound linksโ€ to make room for millions of these script created spam sub-domain and sub-sub-domain pseudo sites made just for spiders webpages. :hehe:

Best wishes,

Mind you, I am not advocating this in any way, shape or form. Far from it. This was just a reminder of the black hats way of doing business and the price we all pay.

And B8, to see if I could get anyone to agree this was an acceptable practice. :hehe:

I saw a quote by a Mod in a SE forum that tried to justify this dreck.
He was of the opinion that Goggle has set guidlines and rules we must abide by in order to develop our sites and achive high ranking. He considered that arrogant on G's part and believes circumvention on our/his part is just winning strategy.

I do understand his reasonings, however I dont subscribe to them.
I prefer to give searchers what they are looking for if they stumble accross one of my sites. I know thats what I want when I click a link, to get what I wanted. But the battle to the top is ruthless and how many times have you gone looking for submarines only to find three pages of airplanes listed in the results?

I say burn them at every turn. I hate snitches, but this is affecting my personal income. If you see this, rat them out. You will help improve the web as a whole and give those sites with actual content a chance to be found.

Peace,
Cyberian

The billions in the title threw me off first. I was thinking about how harmful it could be.

It was 5 billion + indexed pages for one site. I wonder if Google paid the adsense clicks for this while it was up?

I blogged about this a while back and was shocked. It shows how with a little work and some dubious techniques, a man made more in a few days than what most make in a year. Very irritating.

Nope, but some fairly serious guesstimation [factoring in dozens of variables] was done in a few places. i'll boot up technorati and try and find the link for you.

Iโ€™d hate to think of myself as a rat. And, I know of several websites that are in direct competition to mine that I know are using Black Hat SEO tricks but I have refused to do anything about it because I keep telling myself each time I think about turning them in that Iโ€™d only be doing it because theyโ€™re competing against me. However, I do agree that these types of sites that rise in the rankings to under 2000 on Alexa and that quickly get indices in Google comparable to the likes of About.com by simply script generating spammy subdomain and sub-subdomains are such a problem (not for Adwords clients or Google, of course!) that they really should be turned in as soon as you find one.

Since most of these sites have been de-listed and "Banned" by Google in less than a month I doubt the owners ever received payment. The website listed in the article "t1ps2see.com" (you will need to copy this to your browser's adress bar because I'm not going to give them a live link on this forum) no longer has an index in Google and as you can see no longer carries Adsense ads do to an obvious ban from the program.

Best wishes,
Kimmy
