Hello !

I would like to start my own business , a Web-Hosting Company ! i have calculated everything from the domain name , logo's , templates, until the Web-Host Package !

Im going to be a reseller ! The main problem is that i dont have Credit Card to pay the site which will give me the reseller host !

I just need 9.99 $ / Month

I can pay you monthly by NP$ if you want or a better choice is we can collaborate together and open together that company !

It is going to have big profits , calculated every single detail so please if you want to you can help me open it by just buying it and then i will send you the NP$ or better , we can ba partners !

Waiting for a Positive Response

Sincerely

Olgi Zenullari

Note : (9.99 $ -> 495 NP$ , I will give you 550 NP$ Monthly)

Olgi,

Good luck with your hosting business! Web hosting is a very competitive field. Make sure you have enough staff and a good client base to start, or else you'll find yourself not needing that credit card after all. :)

$9,99 monthly isn't going to get you any staff at all

@Olgi

I would not count on any BIG profits especially with this type of business plan.
Sorry to be so blunt.

No , i really appreciate your replies !

Im a newbie and i want to learn new things and of course I dont want 10x profit !

For me its better having 100 clients , each one 1 $ than having nothing :)

Sincerely

Olgi

Correct me if i am wrong, but i think you are new to the the webhosting business and i suggest you do alot more research apart from just the calculations before you start this business. As Etab said, webhosting is a VERY competitive field with LOTS of new webhosting companies opening everyday and LOTS more webhosting companies closing everyday. You have calculated that you could recieve big profits but there is no guarantee that you will recieve big profits from a 10 dollar reseller account with a dollar per client.

You mentioned that you are a newbie and want to learn new things. It is SOMETIMES best to learn new things through experience, but it does not work all the time with webhosting.

I looked around on your profile and it said you are a student. Will you have time to provide support, help out with the sales, set-up accounts?

Overall all i suggest that you do more research in the hosting packages you will offer, maybe you could provide something other hosting providers do not provide.

Read about all the problems hosting providers face and all the mistakes they make. This could help you to not make the same mistakes and face the same problems.

Read reviews from users for other hosting companies. This could help you to improve your hosting business as it tells us what customers really look for in a company.

Good luck with your hosting business. :)

Also, if there ever becomes a point where you can't afford the hosting or your reseller closes down, you will be out of hosting you can afford, meaning you will have a lot of angry customers, even if they're paying $1 a month. The same goes along if you don't have time for hosting. If you have seven clients after nine months, and they all paid for a year, and you don't feel like continuing the service, you can't just close it down. You'll have to pay for an alternative and a way to transfer their information.

It's a bad idea overall in my opinion. There is a saying that "You need to crawl first before you can walk" and in this case it's more like trying to do the 100 meter sprint with athletes like Ben Johnson and still being in the process of learning to "walk".

It's good to be a dreamer Olgi but you're dreaming to hard. This business is to competitive and you need to know what you're doing.
It's better to point your attention and efforts to something within your reach.

You're not going to make big profits with this idea.
Once again sorry to be so blunt.

Thanks for all your replies !

I really appreciate your critiques and suggestions and im sure im going to take in consideration ! Im not going to open a big and profitable hosting company , simple a small reseller host where i can host my friends and some other friends of my friends !
Thats true that i dont have enough time but i think i can manage as i can acess the internet from my school too !

Thanks for your suggestions again !

Sincerely

Olgi

In that perspective it's a nice way to get familiar with the ecommerce business, customer service, etc.
Good luck :tu:

You better of selling websites, and offering the hosting with it.
I started Web hosting before, didn't go well.

You can always use resellerspanel.com as a starter point, no hosting fees, all you need is a domain. I don't advise it, it is just another avenue.

I think it’s great that you are so excited to start your own business. I also think that web hosting is a valuable pursuit for a while, but you need to set your expectations realistically.

In 1999, you could set up a reseller account and have 16 customers within the first four weeks. Web hosting was a booming market then. Now, the market place is much different and harder to get into. I suggest you focus first on learning everything you can about marketing, how to do market research, and how to develop a solid business plan. These skills will be undoubtedly useful both now and in the future.

Four short business books that are very useful for anyone doing business on the internet are:

  1. "Permission Marketing" by Seth Godin
  2. "The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference" by Malcolm Gladwell
  3. "Unleashing the Ideavirus" by Seth Godin and Malcolm Gladwell
  4. "Crossing the Chasm" by Geoffrey A. Moore

To be in the web hosting business these days, it's really important to focus on your local community. That is where you are most likely to address a market that you can reach. The internet is crowded with some very deep discounters. It will be very hard to compete with them as a late entrant.

I hope this helps. I think it is really great that you are interested in starting your own hosting business. However, it would be wise to look into the business side first. You need to pick a target market segment and plan a compelling offering.
