congrats! That's the power of - no thanks....and someone truly wanting somthing!

500-10K in 2 moves..love it!

Money talks and people like to save time.

congrats!
As I mentioned, it was not put up for sale. I refused the 500 offer and I stated that the domain was part of a portfolio involving a business plan. I stated that it would take a very large offer for me to consider. I was asked what that figure was and I did not have a reply. Then came the 10k offer.

Holy smokes! That is something else. This is what I love about DN selling, the eye of the beholder can really pack a punch, especially when it turns reciprocal. Congrats.

Congrats.

It was Tom who also got me into this interesting roller coaster ride of a Domaining Journey

I have always had 200 odd domains in my portfolio that were not developed but I kept them all unresolved or that that default godaddy parking page without any CPC and details..

And always used whois or throwaway emails and yet I kept getting offers from people. I thought they were spammers so I never even opened the emails.

Until Tom reached out to me for a 5K offer on a 4L I had lol
I never new a domain I bought for 300 bucks was worth 5K lol. I always developed domains and flipped them for a lot more, but an undeveloped domain for 5 k was too good to be true

I have sold several domains since then hahaha.
The high that I get from selling empty domains is ridiculous.

I still regret not doing this earlier despite being a frequent buyer of domains from Godaddy Auctions and Sedo since 2009ish lol

This is key point for me. Why wasnt the domain for sale?
the domain was part of a portfolio involving a business plan.

I may be wrong, but my hunch is that it was a CN buyer.

Congratulations on sharing your story and on the great sale, @ixex.

I guess no idea whether end user is planning a direct to consumer headstone business or the Canadian punk band with the name is planning a direct link with their fans, maybe in an NFT sense? (or something completely different) Day I checked name did not yet resolve.

Bob
My guess is direct to consumer. Anyway, that was my plan for the domain, though I decided not to get into the traditional headstone business, and focus on cremation headstone memorials and monuments.

Congrats on that nice sale! Surprise sales are always the best. I have found that when i spend time listing, marketing, promoting my domains, nothing happens.. But when I do nothing, i get random offers for great deals. Last year i had a domain that was basically a throw away domain for me i bought online for less than 10 bucks. It sold somehow for 25k.... so random, but randomness works. If you have something that someone wants, they will find a way to get it!
