I bought a domain that targets the investing industry.

A quick google search and I found an established offline real estate company in New York (building and everything) USING the exact name for their business.

I did a trademark search and they dont have a trademark.

Only difference is they have dashes in their .com. etc.

I know for a fact they would buy this name at the right price.

But from experience, I also know brand bucket would put a nice price tag on it too so I might can get a better deal elsewhere.

Its a very brandable name. Obviously I want to get the MOST money I can from it. I was thinking, let brandbucket appraise it and then ask then ask the company with the site for at least 50% more than that, if they cant do it, stick with BB.

I know a lot of you here have experience with this sort of thing. Ive personally never encountered this situation.

Thoughts? What would you do?

When you say a bought a name, was it avaialble to register? If it was, the chances are pretty high that comapny does not want it or they would have registered it themselves.

Why use a sales platform and lose out on profit?? If there really is no trademark issues with the name, you are better off approaching the end-user yourself.
