So happy today, 5 domains accepted as Sedo "Top Domains"

Submitted my list yesterday night before go to bed, and got mail this morning when get up

Thank you for your interest in our Top Domains section. We have added your domains to our list. Please allow at least 24 hours for them to appear.

For further reference, in order to be considered for the top domain list, the domain name must exhibit certain qualities:

Generic, one or two word combos for the .com

One word domains for .net, .org, and .info extensions

One word Spanish language words with .com extension

It is so great that they accepted all of my 5 domains in the list, and I can find my domains display in the list now

It's cheaper than a "Featured Listing" ... but is there any hard evidence that either category actually sells more domain names for their owners, IYHO's? :gl:

Congrats, I've only ever tried to get one listed so far but that was more because I was curious about something, I think I'll try a few more soon.

No.

All I can ask for considering it's free is for them to get my better names seen. I just got PN.net accepted into top names (no surprise there), and considering I doubt anyone searches for "PN", the only way people would have found the name otherwise was to look up 2-letter .nets, and mine would be in contention with all the others. Now, it's still in contention with other top names overall, but very few other 2-letter names.

Another thing it does is raise the name up in the searches. It REALLY helped my Poker.in get more views, because it was coming up on top of all poker.exts and therefore the top result for a search for "poker". Now it's down to #3 for some reason. .vg is the top now. :/

Secondly , and I will probably get hammered for this - but - they are good names but not exactly top names.

It is consistent with Sedo's current mindset in asking for quality names for auction, featured listings etc and then accepting names below par- just check some of em out, you will see what I mean.

Is it indicative of the quality of names they receive, the quality of the "brokers" making the selection or do they just not care about their reputation?

Again, not to rain on your parade as your names will get extra exposure and I wish you good luck - hopefully some of you will get my point and it is JMO :blink:

I admit to being curious as well that they accept a past tense verb in .info and won't accept in my OTY.com, but oh well...their top names area is MUCH better than Afternic's supposed Showcase.

Ah, nice added benefit IMHO. :music:

Perhaps the .VG folks paid for the "Featured" placement, thus bumping down your domain name that was in the freebie "Top" section? :imho:
