Site SMSberry
Description:
SMSberry - is a free world wide text messaging website with over 185+ service providers currently available. We at the SMSberry Organization have engineered a text messaging application that allows text messages to be sent in a web browser to someone's cell phone. SMSberry currently supports all generations of cell phones (including all smartphones such as the iPhone and the Blackberry). Additionally, it includes all popular world-wide cell phone service providers as of April 26th, 2009.
The service on SMSberry is instant - text messages are sent and received within seconds of pushing the SMSberry "send button". Our service is twice as fast than receiving a text via cell phone. Messages are direct to inbox, and do not have to transmit through the sender's poor wireless/cellular signal.
SMSberry has been designed with a very simplistic Web 2.0 layout, which has been proven to be very effective in the teenage market. The site is eye-catchy and simple to use; in our experience, it is easier to text using SMSberry than it to text via a cell phone.
Google adsense has been implemented discretely at the top of the service, situated in the most optimized position for ad revenue.
Maintenance:
SMSberry does not does not cost any money to maintain. SMSberry does not have to pay any carrier service fees. All revenue is profit. The site is very server friendly, and it does not hog/bring down server memory to process the text messages. There could be 4000 text messages being sent simultaneously, and your server would barely be affected or brought down in any way at all.
Note: A few UK Providers, as of recently, are no longer functioning. This includes O2 and Vodafone (this is because they have changed their extension). All other providers are 100% functional. We are looking for a fix for these two providers, and once we find out, will provide details to new owners. Also, a "how-to" update if these two ever changed it again.
SMSberry Organization's "Build a Berry" Donations & Revenue
One of SMSberry’s greatest and most appealing features is it’s application/advertising program called the “Build a Berry” donation. Users who donate over $10 to SMSberry get their link submitted into our advertising feed of links to be displayed on the output process page of the text message (see http://smsberry.org/success.php for a better idea). During this time, we make the users delay for 20 seconds, where then the donated link is presented and heavily clicked on.
The higher amount of money the user donates, the more frequently their link will show up when texts are being sent.
Build a Berry Donations show great promise for the future. Even now, we have earned a total of $81 in donations.
Between the google adsense and our own custom build a berry advertising program, SMSberry has the potential to easily bring in hundreds of dollars/a day.
Traffic Details:
The site receives, on average, 105 unique visitors a day.
Most traffic is from affiliated links, co-worker's websites, forums, etc. Users consist typically of teenagers from Canada and US, which is especially important to know for the users participating in the Build a Berry program. The service consists mostly of visitors from the United States.
