Well there is no mention in first post of it being unique and a quick search you would have found that it was a copy of that site. As for the adverts change them to your own.

I think many of us know the feeling of not doing enough research. If you don't feel that you can market it because it's not unique, make some improvements and flip it. With that said, plenty of non-unique sites perform and earn quite well.

I might have the site on my server since you put it there - but it's not working

Personally I don't think you have been had. The seller never claimed it was unique. TBH I don't think anyone should expect to buy a unique site with any decent content for $85.
