Sedo most searched keywords for November 2022 showed a change at the top. There was no October report and September and August had NFT at the top spot. NFT was still in the top 10 but at the bottom of the list in 10th place. Shop was first followed by Travel and then Casino. Sedo […]

Interesting to see shop at number 1. I wonder if it's a similar set of terms accross other market places?

Yoga > Cloud in the list 🙃

Yoga is a sellable term, and lots of people want such domains.

But it ain't bringing home the big bacon.

This top is therefore pretty misleading if you see it as "here is where the money is, yoga"....

Edit: Also "Casino" is waaay weaker than "Tech", although again, a valid sellable word indeed.

Good point on yoga, I own one solid one and that's my only exposure but it has never really gotten any bacon.

I don't think anyone searches Sedo, except domainers. Sedo makes sales via partners, and agents of registrars.. No enduser would go there and make a search, and if they ever do , they would be disappointed with irrelevant search results.

All marketplaces are extremely arrogant, and don't improve their business, because all concentrate on manipulating leads, instead of better serving buyers and sellers. For example if you let a domain expire and not own it anymore, if there is an offer, you can't remove it without responding, and if you respond, you have to wait for 1 week. So you need to counter an offer as if you really own the domain. But if your counteroffer is accepted and paid, you are guilty.

Would you rather own Casino dot com or Tech dot com?

I'd choose Casino dot com myself, i would bet Casino dot com would be included in many people's top 5 or top10 lists of dream domain names they would most like to own.

For the exact word.

Otherwise "Tech" in a combination with other word/letters definitely has (had?) a bigger market share ... as in number of sales.

Look for example at NameBio sales above $1K, (select word position anywhere):

Casino = ~ 800

Tech = ~ 1700

Edit: bottom part removed, I was looking at the wrong timeframe for casino.

Later Edit: I've selected "last 2 years" as timeframe.

Casino sales: 35, average price $5k

Tech sales: 346, average price $6k. That's 10 times more.

I rest my case.

(I actually knew that Casino term is much weaker because Dotible is telling me this all the time)

Apples and Oranges comparison - Casino is a niche within a niche (Gambling) which itself fits under tech, since a lot of betting runs on software.

It's like comparing, Metaverse/Ai /NFT keywords with tech

First time "Tech" has appeared in their top 10 results this year - which surprised me.....

Would be nice if they expanded the list to say top 25 - give us a wider picture, they have the data.....
