Just give it some time, it will be conquered by human’s desire.
It's different than normal domain extension, ICANN don't care about it so does .eth or .crypto, blockchain is meant to be against the powers and authorities, if one country don't accept it so others will do and will make economics thriving, Chrome, IE, Opera don't accept it the other will do, as I said no one can stop technology evolve and it will happen as quickly as a boomer.
I mean the ICANN can stop one or some companies, they can't stop peer to peer based technology which all the info is based on different self-dedicated servers in different communities of whole world internet.
just my opinion.
Currently, Android's Opera browser resolves. Just type the domain in the url box. Eventually, more will work, IMO.
Exactly! That's the main reason of the crypto money existence.
so how is this decentralized when its up to XXXX per domain straight from " for the people " registrar of sorts.
in my experience 90% of crypto start ups and concepts are literal scams. so id back check it long and hard. some " centralized " provider of domain names linked to your crypto. no thanks.
and be sure to download an app on your computer to link it all together.
Well, don't get me wrong, do you think I really care centralize or decentralize, all I'm saying is not about what's right or wrong but only in future investment point of view, the word "decentralize" is an utopianism. as long as humanity existing then nothing is innocent, but people love to dream like they love to watch movie performing things that are not exist in real life, people love to deny truth about what they/things truly are, just for that simple reason, blockchain technology will be thriving in future.
I totally agree, he is very inerested in this thread for someone who joined yesterday. Could he be the new owner of sex.crypto
Well, I don’t care new or old members he might have been an old member but instead created new account, like you guys have no confidence to point out “who” is “that“ guy, don’t be shy.
Big waste of money, no matter who bought it.
No ones know, I don’t own it, but will see how it end next couple years.
I am just a fan of loving new technology.
Its not a big secret, you only have to go back a page or two
and flowers.mobi sold for $200,000.. (@DomainKing)
Person with networth higher tham $100,000,000 could have benefitted from this. I hope it was not the relatively poor man who thought he could predict the future—which it likely was.
To me it makes no sense compare.mobi with crypto domain names, one is a cope version of regular extension the later is a brand new thing that have so many functions other than resolving IP address, for majority 99.9% of domainers wouldn’t think tlds value would crash 50% and to me it’s opposite while there’re tons of good domains held as haven’t been sold.
You definitely will laugh but let’s see.
NSA has successfully tricked everyone to believe that Blockchain is unstoppable. Well, it's unstoppable as long as they allow it to be so.
As for coughing out $800 to register a domain that may probably never work, count me out for now.
It is not unstoppable, it is “why stop it?”
Nobody want resources monopolized by someone else.
so what is better .eth or .crypto and what is the difference? has anyone already mentioned- if so, sorry!
To me, .crypto is more general than .eth. If I want to build a site, .crypto would be a better extension, IMO, unless my site is discussion ethereum.
.eth costs $5+/yr (I think)
.crypto costs $40+/one time. You own it for good. No recurring fees unless you move it from wallet to wallet. Then you have to pay gas (not to unstoppable domains).
I do not have any .eth. I do have some .crypto. Therefore I don't know how .eth works in terms of wallets, claiming ownership, renewals, etc.
Doesn't seem legit. Anyways... who stops you from transferring ETH to one of your own accounts for shilling?
cool. How does the decentralisation differ between the two? I recall hearing something about that
So Guys This is a real thing.
I own three .crypto and a few .zil domains and have listed them in opensea. I have been getting 3 offers a week. In my opinion the market is just getting started.
As far as sex.crypto goes i think the buyer has got a great deal for someone who is already into the live sex cam portal industry.
BTW, Google is planning to start listing ENS webpages and Decentralized webpages and also some of the registrars are planing to sell decentralized domains as well.
BUT, i am still not sure if ICANN and ENS or Blockchain domains can come to a common ground. What will happen if someone starts a .crypto or .eth registry, If this happens ENS will not be able to redirect the user to the decentralized webpage because of the conflict.
In my opinion there is a lot of work to be done!!
The difference between .eth or .zil .crypto is depend on their ecosystems built, dapps or staking or any forms of properties, crypto domains is not just a website address also a wallet, the wallet is not just a wallet to store money it can store many things.
what’s difference between .com and .net? Oh...they just look different.
What will happen is ICANN won't give a crap about some "domain" on an alternate DNS root, and will delegate that to the highest bidder. It has happened in the past.
You will have an extension on the standard DNS path used by almost all devices, and the one that you have now on alternate DNS.
I know which one I predict to be more popular. The one that doesn't require a lot of extra effort to use.
That’s easy, put a little bottom to switch search bar, one for web 2.0 the other 3.0.
The question should be what if an other public chain that has own main net creats an other .crypto domain name? Which one Chrome will adopt?
Separate names with a comma.
