I've read the reviews for fabulous in the "domain registrar reviews" section, but unfortunately, the last review was in 2005... so I'm seeking some updated opinions here. Any comments, anybody?

Haven't used them personally. I don't think many domainers have domains with them. They only support a few extentions only

They are fabulous. If you can get a premium account there you are able to get $4.25 .nets and $6.XX .coms. The support is extremely fast and reliable. The parking there is also very good. You can set up different accounts for nameservers as well which makes it extremely easy when you are changing wh you park with, etc.

Highly recommend!

Fabulous is a great registrar with very quick & friendly email support, if you can get a monetization account you will get better pricing on registrations, the domain management tools they provide shows you where every domain of yours is registered and when each of them expires and very good domain statistics on a whole, Mike is also a member here should you have any questions...

Agreed.. I register all of my dot com's with fabulous as I park with them too. Very professional, extremely fast and the customer service is excellent.

With a wholesale account you can purchase .nets for the cheapest on the net, as well as .coms, orgs and .infos too! Customer service is top notch, the best amongst them all. I have just started with them, so no earnings (ppc) as of yet but I do recommend them.

Fabulous is great! They have the new DDN brokerage system that sells and transfers domains in real time. :tu::tu:

I would agree with everyone else. Fabulous are a good registrar. They have 2 types of account. Retail and Wholesale. You need the Wholesale account to get the prices everyone has mentioned. With the Wholesale account you don't get full DNS management (access to MX, A records etc). Only change DNS servers and some basic email forwarding. That is because Wholesale customers don't need Retail services. You can get full DNS management in their Retail accounts, but you won't like the prices. That is because they don't want your retail business.

thanks, guys. I'm still a bit confused though - (i've looked at the faq, faq doesnt really help) what is the difference between a premium account, and a monetization account? I'm guessing that the premium is basically a "better" version of the monetization account? (the faq, http://www.fabulous.com/informationcenter/index.htm?formdata[qid]=412, only mentions a "regular parking program" vs the "Fabulous Premium Program")

Also (and this is my guess here), is the Premium program the same as "allowing Fabulous staff to manage your domains" (item 2.2.9, http://www.fabulous.com/informationcenter/fabulous_manual.htm)? As u can tell, i havent had much luck from trying to glean some proper picture from the faq and docs...

Also, just what exactly are the prices for domains? I've searched all over the site for a proper price list, but have not seen anything yet.

Afaik, Premium and Monetization accounts are both Wholesale accounts. The only difference being that Premium qualify for the 5.0 parking program.

Wholesale prices are $6.75 for .com (on the home page) and $4.75 for .net. Retail prices are $19.95 (afaik).

wait so let me just get this correct (thanks for the post, btw) - u're saying that if i'm looking to buy a domain to seriously develop it, that i shouldnt get it from them ("retail"), and that if i am only looking to park it that i should get the domain from them? is this what u're essentially saying?

if your just going to buy 1 domain and develop it you would be better at godaddy price wise and their support is good just like fabulous email/phone 24/7, if you decide to buy a ton of domains I would then go fabulous or enom.

next to the domain hit the "Transfer" button which will show you the authorization code and then put a check in the little box that says "Open Transfer Window until 15 Jun 2007 6am?" which will unlock your domain for 5 days.

No I'm not. If you are pointing your dns servers to your webhost, then you'll be using their dns, not Fabulous's. It's only if you want to tinker with the DNS records it becomes a problem because you can't do it in Fabulous Wholesale.
