This price sale does reflect the quality value of the .tv extension and demonstrate the need for a fresh and attractive alternative to the saturated .com.

It's a great name, if you are including the domain in, say , a television ad. That is something that will stick in their mind, that they can type in later. Nice sale, to whoever made it!

I agree but for a different reason. I dont find that mortgagelender.tv is of much value so the fact that it sold for that amount bodes well for better .tv names. :imho:

The name is getting some traffic (not much) - haven't measured a full month yet, but about 110-130 uniques a month.

Can anyone help me with an appraisal ?

Having traffic on a .TV is strictly a bonus at this point in the .TV evolution, IMO.
I would not base your sale price on that alone. The uniqueness of a particular domain tied to the extension is what gives it value to a end user. End users generally have plans before they layout :$: and are not dependent on parked traffic. You need to figure out to the best of your ability who you are dealing with. In the end, if you make more than you paid you WIN!! Remember that! I can give you a number but honestly each person has their own risk and reward level and to be honest, what I may say for an amount means nothing.

Offline TV advertising is what is going to drive the value of many .tv generics, not type-in traffic, and in that context this is a great name.

If you are Citibank and you are a mortgage advertiser, you probably stay with Citibank since that is a well-known name, but if you are the 35th largest mortgage lender in the US which I can tell you is probably:

a) a company you have never heard
b) a company that still probably spends XX,XXX,XXX a year in TV advertising

then MortgageLender.tv might be a very very good and easy way for someone to remember your name.

Needless to say, for a company like that, $2,800 is a drop in the bucket in their marketing budget, but also a nice return for the seller since this is a non-premium ($35) reg.
