Scammed by a NamePros user - advice needed

Hello all,

I reluctantly sold a domain here on namepros very recently. I was reluctant because the guy said he would pay me half of the fee straight away then the other half a few days later when he had the funds avalable. I looked into my paypal account and the first installment was there - briefly!

Shortly after I had pushed the domain I went back into paypal and noticed that the payment had been put on hold while paypal investigated the transaction. I had never seen this before and found it very strange. I contacted the buyer and told me he had seen it before and it would all be cleared up within 2 days. Then came the day when his second installment was to go into my paypal - guess what? nothing. Basically I dont have 1 single penny to show while this guy (who no longer answers my emails) is using my domain as a fully functioning website!

I contacted godddy and asked them to reverse the transaction but havent heard anything yet and I dont imagine they could help me anyway.

Does anyone have any advice? - other than be more careful in the future!

ps the buyer has now been banned from namepros and not for the first time from what I can see

theres been alot of this recently, firstly contact the admin team here, they have been awesome in the past helping out members here,

in the warnings thread, theres alos a lot of good info there from other NP'ers in the smae boat as you, that might prove helpful.

Godaddy are usually pretty un-helpful in this situation, how much was the sale for??

the guy did have a verified paypal account but it appeaers to have been frozen

the sale was for $210

Log into your GoDaddy account. Click on Pending Account Changes. Select the domain and click on Cancel Transaction.
