Why this domain has been dropped?
I don't know.
Maybe somebody just forget to pay for prolongation.

Unfortunately, each .RU registrar have their own auction and/or escrow services. And also most sales are direct, not in public. So, real trusted statistics does't exists.
But I can tell You, that on the market passes 5-10 sales below $1000 per day. So, market alive.

We have 45 accreditted registrars for .RU.
And about 25 of them have backorder-dropcatch service.
The top dropcatch price of this year was about $9000. Domain TANDEM, not a commercial name. Some rich end-user got it, but project not started yet and we don't know a niche.
