Hi
I recently registered the name Ringside.info. I see this as an great domain for a boxing fans forum as the name says exactly what it means.
I did a trademark search on Trademark 247. There are many trademarks registered for the word "ringside". They range from a trademark for beer, a restuarant to one for boxing equipment.
I am not too worried about the beer and restaurants. It is the one for boxing equipment that worries me. I have 2 queries:
(1) If I used the domain Ringside.info for a fans forum could the owner of the brand selling boxing equipment have a claim for trademaek violation?
(2) If I decided to selll just the domain name via auction on Godaddy or Sedo (just as the name) would they have a case for trademark violation?
Your input is much appreciated as I am thinking of deleting the domain but am reluctant to do so as I love boxing and think it is a great generic name.
Thanks
PK
